Are there any local charities that accept vehicle donations? There is one in north Texas that will arrange pick up anywhere in the state, but I'd rather do it for an area charity if possible. 4951

pbs takes donations of vehicles. if the vehicle is in poor condition, check with your local fire dept to see if  they accept them to use for training with the jaws of life and other gear. i donated one a few years back to the porter fire dept. 4951

@ProblemAgain: Oh, that's a great idea. I will check with them. It's got over 250,000 miles and needs a couple thousand worth of work. It was my hubby's work truck, and with the cost of repair, he decided to buy a new car that gets great mileage. He drives a hundred miles a day, and I think the savings in gas is actually paying for the new car!

@attila: If its a FORD truck he can fix it and it will go another 250K. It its a chevy, its amazing its still rollin'
