I'm curious to find out if anyone in the Kingwood area has used Taylor Family Practice and bought supplements from the in office pharmacy there only to have allergic reactions.  Primarily with the Women's Energy Multi-Vitamin.  I took one tablet about 5 months ago when I first started going there, and the next day woke up with big red welts on the front of my neck.  Now ever since then, anytime I take anything with a B vitamin in it, I have the same allergic reaction.  I really worries me.  I've taken B vitamins my whole life and never had a reaction like this.Any info I can get would be helpful. Thanks 4951

Totally agree with @fallon.  I went to her once and never went back.  She pushes for you to get things from her pharmacy that aren't covered by your insurance.

And I can hang with the best when it comes to a truck drivers mouth but OMG - just because I'm from N.J. and so is she, doesn't mean every other word out of her mouth needs to be the "F" bomb.  Extremely unprofessional.  If you are having a conversation with someone and they have a mortified look on their face and are not repeating the same words you are using - stop using them.

I also have no idea how she is still in business.  I thought I read a while back that she lost her license. 4951

I worked for a company that did her payroll after I had seen her so I always kept my comments to myself but I don't work there anymore.  I would recommend NEVER going to her. 4951

Well unfortunately I did not do my due diligence before going to her.  I looked at their website because I was specifically wanting the bio-identical hormones.  But they do a whole battery of blood test, then she had me buy all these other supplements that I was deficient in.  The sad part....they gave me about 10 of the Women's Energy vitamins free to try out, so I didn't even have to pay for them, and that is what the allergic reaction was too.  I'm thinking about having them analyzed to find out what is actually in them, and making this reaction. 4951

@LynneH: Vitamins are composed of a variety of different substances other than the actual vitamin.  There are various options for binders, fillers, preservatives, dyes, etc. that companies use.   Your allergic reaction could have been from one of these.  Since you are having a similar reaction to other vit B supps you've tried, I would suggest trying a liquid form of the vitamin, or different brands Keep Benadryl on hand til you find one you can tolerate.

I started going to Dr. Taylor's Office nearly a year ago, and have been very satisfied, but then I have been taking charge of my own health for the last 10 years...by eating better, eating organically grown food, and taking supplements.  I have found my own reliable places to get supplements.  Dr. Taylor doesn't require you to buy any of the supplements at her practice...just recommends that you buy good ones and not just any old supplements some companies put out these days.  Using natural and pure is always better.  Oftentimes really good supplements are costly, but they are worth it.  Think about how much money is spent on fast food, movies, entertainment, etc.  One's health is more important than that.As for the complete blood tests...it is always good to find out what in your system could be causing your problems.  She is the only doctor I've ever seen that will give you a copy of your own blood test.  She does not push anything on you.  She will recommend things to you, and you can always go home and do your own research.  I especially like the new lab that they have put in their practice.She is a doctor/naturopath that deals with both kinds of people...ones who want a more natural approach and others who want a more conventional approach.  It probably depends on your choice of approach that either makes a patient really like a doctor or not. 4951

I've seen Jill Taylor for at least 10 years now. I was a medical malpractice insurance agent then and I knew the malpractice claims history of every doctor in the Kingwood area.  With all of that information, I chose Dr. Taylor as my doctor. I won't say who I didn't choose.Dr. Taylor is, in my opinion, very knowledgeable and is an absolute pharmacological whiz. I want a doctor that listens, doesn't push drugs for every single little thing, and lets me be fully involved in my healthcare. I want someone who knows drugs and their interactions and side effects, as well as what natural treatments there are for the same symptoms.  I fully understand how some don't care for the foul language. I would choose a different doctor if it bothered me. 4951

@blueglass90:
She is not the only doc that gives you copies of blood work or anything else. I moved down here with ALL of our families' Original medical records. I made copies for our new Dr. I see Dr Gross Pierce and never once has she denied me any paper work in my file.
I always request copies of any lab work and they happily give it to me. When I had to be seen at MDA I requested all the lab work and SOAP notes and took them with me. I'm not sure who else you've been seeing but I would've not seen any doc that would not give me access to my files.
As far as Dr Taylor- I have heard nothing but bad- except the 2 good reports here. I would never see someone who lost their medical license and has been reprimanded by the State board. I do my research too before choosing a doc. 4951

No one said she is the only doctor who will give the blood work.  She is just the only doctor I've known or have heard of that offers them and wants you to have them...for your own records.  Most people just take what the doctor says and follows their advice.  Many people don't even know what their blood type is.  When I moved here 20 some years ago, I could get some of my family's medical records brought with me, and some I had to have written permission from a doctor that they were indeed from a doctor.  Made sense at the time, and it still does.  Just now days, doctors send you all over with this test and that test, and then one has to track them all down if and when you need them.  Makes it handy to have certain ones.  Different doctors have different ways of doing things.  There are many people who are "doctor chasers"...don't like one, find another...and another...and another.  I'm not say you are like that, just that there are people who do.  I did do my research, and just because one loses a license in one state, doesn't mean they are bad doctors, or should have to give up their license.  It might just mean that people have complained about their treatment plans, or an assortment of other things.  Many in the medical field don't like a natural approach to things, as it affects how much money they can make...and pharmacology with all the prescriptions.  Speaking of natural approaches, look at all of the people Dr. Burzynski, in Houston, (the cancer doctor), has helped, but there are people who don't like his treatment, or don't get well because they expect miracles.  No doctor can do that. The state has been after him for years.  Imagine how much better work he could be doing if he wasn't always fighting to be able to help people.I was not trying to offend anyone.  I was just trying to get my point across that people have different wants and needs for a doctor...and I like Dr. Taylor and her associates. 4951
