I've had about 3 hours sleep (cumulative) overnight, and have not slept well in the last several mights. For some god-awful reason, I'm up, for now, but could go back to sleep. I really want coffee but if I do, I'm likely up for a good bit.  Coffee vs sleep vs coffee vs sleep  OMG, it's time for pharmaceutical intervention. Anyone got any spare Ambien or Trazadone?

HEB cafe ole has some great flavors in decaf. Both the Houston Blend and the San Antonio Blend are excellent. I highly recommend keeping those around for moments like these.

I'm sorry, I have no sleeping pills to offer except melatonin. Coupled with L-Theanine, you can quiet your mind and relax. Now, why didn't I think about that Saturday night?

I didn't pay attention to what time you posted that. I'm probably a few hours late anyway. 4951

Just say no to Ambien! That is some awful stuff! It gave me roughly a 12 hour amnesia. I couldn't remember anything! 4951

Up your Magnesium and Zinc levels. In the meantime, take a melatonin. Good luck! 4951

@Annie: Yeah, I was on Facebook chatting with an old friend.  He had taken an Ambien and was waiting for it to kick in.  OMG it was hilarious.  His typing skills sunk to non-existent and he started talking gibberish.  I bet he fell asleep at his computer. Poor guy.

grab a book & start reading , soon you will fall to sleep ...that's what I always do & it works for me every time. If that fails try SEX..... making sure it's "safe sex"...that also works but sometimes it takes 2 or 3 times before I'm sleepy enough to fall asleep (LOL) but I never complain ..(LOL) 4951

@WJo:   Safe sex?  I've been married over 20 years, so I think I'm covered on that front. A book won't work because:

and that might have the opposite effect...LOL.  Emoticon 4951

I struggle with sleep @donnatella  I've been up since 3:30. I got out of bed physically @ 4 a.m. I knew I wasn't going to go back down. I've no issues with ambien. I wish I could get an ongoing scrpt for it. I don't take them every night, but I have to take something. I see a power nap in both of our future! Get some rest! 4951

@KTownTexican: If I only have 2-3 hours of sleep time available, I'm better off just staying up.  Once I get to sleep, I will like sleep to deeply to be able to wake up and be alert enough to function.  Sorry about your circumstances, and hopefully you can get a catch-up power nap.

@donnatella... I hate it when I can't go to sleep , I've been married over 22 years , so  I know your pain (LOL) ...but my hubby travels so I spend a lot of nights alone with my 3 poodles . I do read a lot  most of the time it works & I fall to sleep , but on those nights when it doesn't work I end up cleaning house , doing laundry or ironing or I pamper myself , polish my nails , do my hair , etc.....the other day my neighbor gave me a huge wagon full of tomatoes & beans . I blanched, peeled & canned 26 quarts of tomatoes , 9 quarts of tomato sauce & the next morning I got up & decided to make "watermelon rind preserves , I got 11 jars from one melon. That night I had no problem falling to sleep .....I've been told when you can't sleep it's a sign of an over active mind , just find some task to do that will  numb your brain & you just might fall to sleep .Good luck ! 4951
