@angiekaye: I was going to switch but they don't offer the high speed internet in my area. I would have if they did offer it.

I have had problems with internet phone & cable for the 5 +/- years I have lived here. I pay over $200.00 a month to Suddenlink and they continue to provide poor service. My phone and internet go down every time it rains. I had to fight to cancel the home security without penalty. If your phone does not work either does the security. If you have kids you might want to choose a different provider otherwise your stuck with no phone or security for days until they fix it. I really wish we had better options. If you spend hours speaking to them and finally decide to cancel, they might move your service appointment up and give you a small credit. I know I should plan ahead for medical emergencies, house fires and home invasions but I dont have time since I am on hold on my cell phone with suddenlink. 4951

I've had suddenlink for 2 years and never had a problem. Even when 3 devices are all simultaneously streaming Netflix, I never have any bandwidth issues. Maybe I'm just lucky. 4951

@angiekaye: first you have to understand you aren't being billed for the 'empty space'.  you are billed for access to that empty space and the amount of data usage you consume in your use of the internet whether it is watching netflix, accessing kdc, reading emails or whatever. what your provider is telling you is your household exceeded the allowed data usage on whatever plan you have. that means you either have to cut back your usage or upgrade your plan..or change your provider. possibly there is another provider that you can access who allows more data usage for the same price. (there are some plans which don't cut you off but they bill you as much as 5 cents a  mb for your use over the limits)

which could be approving billing for overage or it could be approving an upgrade to a larger package. you better call them to be sure what requesting more actually means...some people always want a larger package 4951

We went over when our college age sons were home, with online gaming.  We upgraded to the 350g level and still went over one month.  We were told if we went over 3 times they would bill us for each 50g over, can't remember how much.  Even hubby and I use a big chunk because he downloads a lot of movies and streams Netflix.  Missing having unlimited, but Century Link is too slow were we are.  4951

Speaking of Suddenlink... We got a call today verifying they were doing an internet install for us in Livingston on Sept. 6. NOT!! DH just talked to them by phone yesterday on a fact-finding mission. We haven't even decided. Maybe they have EOM quotas!!! 4951

@MarT: Is that what they told ya? Even the data-hoggiest of online multiplayer games are going to use 50-100MB per hour, TOPS. They would have to be gaming 24/7/365 to hit the cap, and even then....
