I was lucky to win a $25 gift card a month ago for Lucille's and I promised I would write a review after I went.  We finally got the chance to use the gift card.  The staff at Lucille's was very nice and pleasant.  The place was neat and clean.  In our opinion, the food was edible, tasted fresh and was generally just ok.  I think it is worth a try for others to see if it fits your taste preferences.  Here's our opinion of what we ate (based on our taste preferences) -We had:1.  Shrimp & Crab Au Gratin - shrimp and crab in cheese sauce with green onions served with the small crunchy bread slices.  It was ok.  I would not order it again.  Nothing really stood out for me to make me really want to eat it again.2,  Corn & Crab Bisque - pretty good.  On the thicker side for me.  I am used to a bit of a thinner version.  Again, tasted ok.  I would not order it again just because it didn't WOW me for $5 for a cup.3.  Fried shrimp platter & Fried Shrimp po-boy - these were good.  There were a lot of shrimp on the po-boy.  There were a decent amount on the platter.   Personally, the po-boy looked like the better deal as far as price and serving sizes.  The shrimp tasted fresh and were seasoned.  We had both the sweet potato fries and regular fries.  They were also ok.   Overall, we enjoyed our meal.   It wasn't one of our favorites but it was ok.  Again, I think it maybe a matter of personal preference so I think it worth trying.  I hope they do well.  It is nice to have options when you want to go eat.  Maybe if go again, we will try the burgers.   4951

I went with family recently myself - was sure hoping for something better. My review is not good. The fried catfish and the fried shrimp have some kind of odd un-identifiable spice in the batter? Also had the corn and crab appetizer with toast - the "crispy" toast was stale and although it was "ok", but cost $12, it also had that strange spice in it?Good fried catfish tastes fresh and tastes like fish, not some strange spice.  And I am familiar with Cajun spices, and this is not what we were tasting -The place itself is actually nicely appointed and is quite roomy with tables far enough apart to allow conversation, but that's the only good thing I can say.  And, the prices are not exactly cheap.I will not go back - I don't believe it will last very long, IMO.  It's almost like that space is jinxed.I'm surprised to read good reviews from some people about it - to each his own I guess.  4951

I am looking forward to trying them. I hope not everything is fried or has gluten though. 4951

I sent them a question about their food in an email several months ago..... never got a response.  Why publish an email address if you are not going to answer it?  They are a good sponsor of KDC, so I still plan to try them. 4951

I've been a few times and have really enjoyed it. It could be that I just really enjoyed the company I was win, which helps the overall experience, I guess. If you're having fun, you're likely to have better memories of the place.

If you go in as a food critic, then maybe there are more things to find that are not likable. Actually our waiter was a bit of a goof but we just laughed it off as we left and continued to enjoy our day.

I love the place and will continue to go back. 4951

I will admit, they give you a sauce (supposed to be BBQ) with your sweet potato fries......it's horrible!! I had to ask what it was because I couldn't identitfy it from the taste. Its's bad. Tastes like they dumped too much chili powder in it. I make my own BBQ sauce when I make brisket and this was far from BBQ sauce. 4951

@scrina: You know, you got a gift card for the place-maybe you should graciously stop typing nasty comments.  A simple, not my kind of food would have sufficed.I get everyone is entitled to their own opinions-but you don't need to bash them.

We went a few weeks, when I won & I was very happy with the food. Everyone at the table seemed to like what they had.  The only problem is the owner chills red wine. It totally changed the taste of the wine & we sent it back. The staff said they have been trying to explain to her red wine is not chilled. It really was past chilled, plus put in chilled wine glasses. That's a no-no in my book. 4951

@BooBear: So, for "picky" eaters like myself, what do you suggest?

@okiedokie. With all do respect, I think I gave a fairly neutral review, encouraging others to try it. I am an honest person, just because I received a gift certificate by chance, I will not be dishonest. I do not think I was out of line in stating they have bad BBQ sauce. I spent plenty over the $25 gift card I won. The bottle of wine we had exceeded the gift card amount, not to mention the appetizer and entrees we purchased. Free gift card or not, I will be honest in my opinion. Sorry if that bothers you. 4951

I love knowing I am not the only picky eater out there. It makes me feel not odd. I have not tried anyof their salads yet. We should go do that soon! 4951
