>> A man on a motorcycle was killed in Forest Cove on a residential street (Forest Cove Drive, I think) a.bout noon today. A White pickup was smashed & turned over on its side. Not sure how it happened. Does anyone know the details. The disturbing thing to me was the guy that was killed was laid out on someone's yard with a sheet over him & his helmet and backpack beside him.It reminded me of how fragile life is.
@Camelot: As much as I enjoy riding I still realize that every time I leave home there is a good chance I might not make it back. I have been hit once and had several close calls involving rude drivers. Being on a bike is like being in traffic on foot . I don't know what happened in this case but some drivers rarely yield to motorcycles or other cars for that matter.
@uneasyrider: On the flip side, you have some, not all, motorcyclists that run the roads like maniacs without any regard for the vehicles around them. I see it almost every day on both my morning and evening commutes: guys on motorcycles running faster than they should, weaving in and out of traffic, not signaling, etc. I'm trying to do my part, they should too. Like I said, it's not all bikers, but there's plenty.
