Oh no she didn't.This woman made a honey and herb sprayer to use as a bidet.Rosemary and honey on my tushy with no toilet paper?Um, NOT

@Stealth83: Can you imagine the sticky feeling after 'rinsing'.  At least it will smell like honey & rosemary, just icky.  It's sorta like the people who refuse to use toilet paper, using washable rags instead, then throw the rags in a bucket for washing.  Or, using rags (like they did in the early 20th century) for menstruation?  Cloth diapers I can understand - sorta, but not some of these other prepper ideas.

Could you live off the grid?No electricity, no public water, no public foodwow some of these folks on Doomsday Preppers have left high paying corporate jobs to live off the grid preparing for doomsday

@Stealth83:  I did for 18 months in Vietnam. Add to that poop in 1/2 of a 55 gal drum and sometimes on the detail to burn the poop. Charlie Sheen in Platoon brought back smelly memories.

@TexasOma: It's just wrong, just wrong. Those people are really weird.  But the family that did the honey stuff scored the best I have seen.  They actually seemed almost normal

@Stealth83: ALMOST NORMAL!!!   But still icky!   All I can think about is how getting just a little bit of honey (or syrup) on you or a table/counter.  That little tiny bit seems to grow and grow and grow making everything it's on become sticky. Then to make a bidet to rinse  after a trip to the bathroom - stick to everything, including yourself.  It's just gross. And, if they are 'saving the earth' by going natural with everything....wouldn't it be wasteful of water resources if they were spraying a bidet long enough to rinse crap off the butthole?  A little bit of TP will get the job done just fine.  If they want to save the TP instead of flushing, that's fine, but how would they dispose of saved TP?  Can't burn it because it would pollute the air, can't bury it because it would pollute the ground - what do you do with it?  I'm just shaking my head at the grossness of the people calling themselves Preppers.

oh and she used honey and milk to use for bathing.Well hand bathing herself

@Stealth83: I think this was something they did in ancient times.  We live in modern times, no need to improvise.  In fact, in ancient times, I don't believe they bathed more than once a week....I have to have nightly shower, with real soap and water. When I was a teenager, I grew up sorta like a 'hippy'.  I couldn't do the total hippy thing because they didn't shave their legs or pits & that was gross to me then.  They didn't bathe much, they camped out  and they did drugs.  I just never embraced the back to nature movement of back then.  I guess that thinking has cycled back with this younger generation.  So glad to be old!!!

@BooBear: Really didn't post Rita, Lived in a neighborhood that had a mud system, and our water plant was screwed up and ran on electricity (we were with Entergy, not Reliant, and they were still up in La. fixing their stuff after Katrina, took forever), so no water, gas I believe we had, but the only gas appliance I had was my water heater (did a lot of good w/ no water), and heater (which I for sure didn't need).

During ike we were in Willis, our home was off the grid 3 weeks and yes it was also no water or gas use. We had no issues. We were prepared, even enough so we could wash up every few days because I had over 100 gallons of water and 42 cases of drinking water.

The only issue I had was people started burning debree and being we had Windows open for air flow I started having respiratory issues. We ate good, we played ,we cleaned ,we lived.

Guess we were preppers and still are but I won't be washing any part of me with honey, I had 3 cases of baby wipes......LOL. when the lights and water came on I had 3 gallons of water left and 6 bottles ......we didn't ration because we knew it wouldn't be months. I used a lot of my water to wash things that could have waited and since we didn't have a flowing filter for turtles I had to change their stinky water. In a real crises we would not waste water that way and eat the turtles......roflmao. 4951

I would gladly live off the grid and plan to do so in the future.

Also "off the grid" does not equal "doomsday prepper".

You might be surprised just how many off-off-grid communities there are already. 4951
