We are thinking about putting in  a pool.  Does anyone have any experience dealing with any of the local pool builders in the area?  I'm waiting for a couple of calls backs, and thought I would reach out to y'all for any reviews.  Any help or recommendations are greatly appreciated!  Thanks as always! 4951

We are going through the same thing. So far we have had backyard amenities , blue haven and nelson come out , I have Picasso coming next week. Its a hard choice. So far my best design has been backyard amenities. 50-60 grand is a lot of money and I wanna make sure I really love it. 4951

I know. Pools are a lot of money. One if them drew out a pool that had a waterfall and it was 30x22. Only 61,000. I threw up in my mouth a little. Hell no. So far the cheapest pool with spa is 52,000. 36x18. 4951

Make sure you know if the pool builder will need to access your neighbors' yard and what will be done to repair your neighbors' damage. In my case, we were the neighbor to the family having a pool built.

Due to the limited space on one side between our houses, our common fence was removed leaving our backyard completely accessible to strangers. Also, they destroyed the drainage I had installed in the backyard running all the way to the front yard.. The pool builder replaced it but not to my satisfaction. Thankfully, our neighbors were kind and paid to have it replaced by the original landscape company. Also, make sure they do all the appropriate markings in the yard. I have no idea how the digging crew missed the big electrical line running through the yard before it was severed.

I will pm you the builder.

I was browsing on HAR at houses for sale browsing at pools for ideas. I found this one I really like on a house that just sold. Its different than most pool shapes. I'm going to ask the guy to draw this one up for me. Its so pretty.

Oh my, I was planning on spending at MOST $45K!!  thank you so much @2danes for including pictures.  The $61K design, was what I had envisioned.   However, I will need to envision something else.  I called Platinum pools, but they haven't gotten back to me yet.  Thanks so much again! 4951

Its reall crazy how much pools cost now. The pool guy told me the average pool with spa now a days is going to be 50-60 grand. Its a big investment. So i wanna love it and not settle if I'm spending that much. 4951

We were going too. But financially it doesn't make sense to sell our house and go buy another one for double the price an get half the house. I just couldn't do it. My husband has been there all summer working and the amount of money they take out of his check for taxes makes me sick. So were staying here. I could stay here and get a really nice pool and still be ahead. Its just not worth it. I love Cali and it's a beautiful place but it's to much money. 4951
