My baby is about to go under the knife to repair 2 torn ligaments, remove fragments and stimulate cartilage growth in her left ankle. I hope there isn't more damage than expected.

In late May, her last week before final exams, they were scrimmaging in volleyball class. Of course, she landed on someone's foot and did the damage then. Her mother, among others, believed it to be just a high ankle sprain and didn't take her to see an orthopedic doctor. 2 months later and no pain relief, she was given an MRI where they found damage.

Today, doc said my baby (15 yo) must have a high pain tolerance because it was "nasty in there and she shouldn't have been able to walk." Tough girl!

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. She's at home recovering. She'll be in pain and loopy for a few days, obviously. But again, thanks!
