Bought a car last year and picked up the glass breakage package too.  Now that company is refusing to replace windshield so I called the dealer.
They offered me a "good price".

I told them the "good price" I expected was $0.00 and to call me back this afternoon when they can do that.

grrrr

@Stealth83: Hmm, why would the dealer do anything, you bought a third party coverage policy and that third party policy is declining your claim, your beef is with the third party company and not the dealer, unless your expecting the dealer to replace the windshield at their expense out of the goodness of their precious little heart....

I have full coverage on my vehicles & when  we needed to replace the  glass our insurance policy paid for it , we did not need an additional policy . Check with your insurance agent & see if you have full coverage & if you do it should cover your glass. 4951

@wjo we have like a $50 deductible on our glass replacement. Use it about every year or two.Twice this year. Both DD's and my si needed new windshields. 4951

@FoFa....we have only used ours  once  several years ago  , but it's nice to have . A lot of people do not know they have glass coverage  on their insurance policy & they never use it . 4951

@WJo:
Be very careful with glass claims on your insurance.  Back in college, I used to work for a State Farm agent and watched several people get cancelled over just a few relatively inexpensive glass claims.  They count all claims, even rock chip repairs, as claims.  After that, we started paying for rock chips out of pocket.  4951

@donnatella....we have always paid for the small stuff  not worth making claims for & doing all the paperwork . We just recently raised our deductible to $1,000. because we never had to use it , having a large deductible  made our insurance premium lower.....which makes us happy. We have been with the same insurance company for over 20 years  & have had only one windshield claim  & that was about 15 years ago .....so we are not worried  about filing claims if we need to ....fingers crossed that we continue to have good luck . 4951

That's good information about the rock chips. I did not know that they were counted as claims. 4951

The dealer is stepping up.  But you can't expect a duck to step up like a monkey.  A dealership steps up like a dealership. 4951

@Stealth83:

Looks like you paid for the 3rd party "stupid tax". Why would anyone pay for windshield coverage when it's covered under your insurance?

Call your insurance company, learn from your mistakes, and move on.

....oh, and make sure you go by the company that declined your claim, and put a brick through every car windshield parked in their shop. 4951

We have always had glass replacement on our insurance.  Until we moved here.  Allstate is not offering that to us here.  We have been with them for 20 plus years.  And Texas is the only state we can't get this in. We had it on our cars before we moved here.  We didn't change anything on our policy when we moved here either, but our addressEmoticonNow I have to pay out of pocket.  Have had to replace one, and that was under $250.00.  But still sucks having to pay for it.

@Fallon:

Just a note, you always end up paying for it! That is unless "Daddy" pays it for you.
