Not at that stage yet, but I know I will be a wreck.  Hopefully, mine will go to school locally and stay home to keep expenses low.  4951

I bawled my eyes out when the went to kindergarten.. I bawled again at graduations, then we got home and I looked at them and realized they are now taking up space in my house and costing me more without near as many tax breaks.

We are going up for some of the games.  I feel it is far.  I wish it was at least two hours closer.  I am being a big baby! 4951

when my oldest daughter was  getting ready to go to kindergarten I was a mess , she was my only child at the time & I was not ready to let go . My husband was at sea & I would be alone at home  & she would be in school with a stranger teaching her, I was not a happy camper at all. So the day arrived & off to school we went  , she had morning class so we were one of the 1st ones to arrive. The teacher showed her to her seat & we both begin to cry  . The teacher told me I could leave so I went outside into the hall & remained by the door looking in every few minutes to make sure she was alright because I was not doing well at all. The school bell rang signaling classes were to begin & all visitors were to leave the school . I did not budge an inch . After a few minutes the school principal came by & told me I had to leave , I explained to him that my 5 year old daughter was in this room & it was her 1st day & I was not going to leave her there alone incase she needed something .He asked me what my daughters name was & I told him & he opened the class room door & asked for my daughter to join us in the hall . When she came out she was also crying , he looked at me & his exact words were , " you & your daughter need to go home & when you both mature you can bring her back".We held hands & walked out of that school & did not return till the following year , by then I had adjusted to the fact that she needed to go to school  &  she was now 6 years old & I was pregnant so I had enough things to keep me busy . With the 2nd child I took her to school & dropped her off & went back home alone . It gets easier with child (LOL) 4951

I was feeling AWFUL about sending my last child to Waco in a couple of weeks. Thirty-six years with one kid or another, and I didn't know what life was supposed to be without someone needing something from me. Yesterday my ds told me how much he was looking forward to being in Waco and how happy he was that everything that he had worked for all these years was about to begin. Knowing that he was excited, not afraid, made me feel much better. All of his life I did everything that I could for him and now it's his turn to use what he has learned and create the life that he has dreamed about. And I realized that everything that I have worked for all these years, to raise the kids to have wings and fly on their own, was about to come true for me too. As much as there will be tears, they should be happy tears. It's his turn now. And it's my turn too.  4951
