I was out on the river yesterday and noticed almost all the boats out there didnt have their tops up to keep the sun off the passengers. With the UV index being at a very dangerous level you would think people would use as much shade and sun screen as possible. Guess drinking and boating no one cares after a few red bull and vodkas. Especially those on the tubes, being in the water makes it worse when you get out.Personally I use #30 and still get a bit burned.Skin cancer is not good and the surgeon general has said that skin cancer is on the rise. Young people love to enjoy the sun as do I but.....protect your kids and your teenagers and yourself. 4951
I use 30 - 50 on my face & hands, then 8 on my body. I don't burn easily. If I'm going to be in the pool or on the boat I'll go with 15 or 30. It took me a looooong time to figure out this routine, but I almost never get sunburnt anymore. 4951
My two cents: if you are fair skinned take the precautions to prevent the sunburn from occurring or dont go out in the sun when its hot.As for me, having ancestry of Latin with a twist of native american I tan really well. As i have gotten older I tend to stay away from the marathon sun baking. Now doing outdoor activities I am prepared and check the UV index before I venture out.Guess now the thread is dead 4951
