I will just use my cell. I have reached my limit with the damn BS calls.I like having a landline, I hate all the sales calls. Any one else have this problem? 4951

i was able to block anonymous calls,   and also can block up to ten numbers,  has worked great so far.
Selective Call Rejection
Selective Call Rejection screens every incoming call against a
customized "do not accept" list of numbers created by the subscriber and
rejects those calls on the list. You can choose to reject a list of up
to 10 specific phone numbers. When you block a telephone number they
will hear “The number you have dialed is not accepting calls from your
number at this time”. You should use this feature any time you would
like to block a specific number from being able to call your home
number. To Access the Selective Call Rejection Service:
Listen for dial tone then press *60. The recorded voice will then
tell you how many public or private numbers are currently stored on your
"do not accept" list.

To add the last caller to your "do not accept" list:Listen for dial tone then press *60 then press #01# . The number you have blocked will be repeated back for verification.
To Activate or Deactivate:Note: To turn the feature on the customer must first have telephone numbers placed on your “Do Not Accept” list
Listen for dial tone then press *60. Dial 3 to turn the feature ON
(if it is currently off), or turn the feature OFF (if it is currently
on).To add a new phone number to your "do not accept" list:
Listen for dial tone then press *60. Wait for the automated message
to begin then Press #. Dial the number you want to block then Press #
again. The number you have blocked will be repeated back for
verification. To remove a number from your "do not accept" list:
Listen for dial tone then press *60
To remove all entries, press 08*
To remove individual entries, press 09*To hear the phone numbers on your "do not accept" list:
Listen for dial tone then press *60 dial 1. After list is read, voice instructions will follow.
Anonymous Call Rejection When Anonymous Call Rejection is enabled callers who have blocked
their number from your Caller ID display will hear an announcement that
you do not accept anonymous calls and they should remove the Blocking
and then call back. All other calls will ring through as usual. This
does not include Unknown or Private Calls.
To Activate:
Lift the handset, listen for the dial tone, press *77, and then listen for confirmation tone or announcement.
To Deactivate:Lift the handset, listen for the dial tone, press *87, and then listen for confirmation tone or announcement. 4951

Us too! Lots of scam calling & I'm on the do not call list.  A lot lately are political calls. Well the politicians are exempt from the do not call list! I will not vote for Brandon Creighton just because he was blowing up my phone last week & the week before. Calling more than once in the evenings, & the darn calls are automated. Nobody there to even yell at to take me off the list......... 4951

@Murf:  Thanks for posting those instructions. I'm going to print that out.  I had been told about *60 but not how to first turn on that feature. 4951

I have been dealing with this ever since I got suddenlink. when I had Century link I was able to have my number unlisted and blocked from unknown numbers.I had my number as unlisted back in 2012 when I moved into my house. then in 2013 I got noticed that my number was listed,, so I called them to have it unlisted. Then around February, I got another call about my number being pulled from the listing on the phone books,, so back to call suddenlink. their records indicated that I had requested the unlisted number and that it WAS on there,, but was taken off. So I asked again to place it as unlisted, of course now they want to charge me something like $2.50 to get it unlisted,,,, but according to them,  my number may be still printed on the upcoming phone book. That was February,,, this is August.I still get calls, saying my number is listed, I still get stupid calls about selling me something, I still get my internet cut off, I still have crappy customer service, from suddenlink.Whats the use having an unlisted number, if Suddenlink does not give a crap about customer service, and still keeps your number listed. I hope some new company would step up and provide service,, they would make a killing here in Kingwood, and suddenlink would go out of business. 4951

I did the whole thing of activating the do not call lost thing. Kept getting advertising calls from the machines that randomly call numbers. Gave up and pulled our phones too. With 6 cell phones why need a home phone ? I can block numbers on the cell and not be bothered. 4951

@KTownTexican: yeah I know, only does ten, you have gotten more than ten indiv  spam callers?  that sucks.   ive got 6 slots filled, haven't needed to use anymore for the past few months.   unknown numbers I am still looking for a  way to block, there are a few options out there.   blocking the anonymous has done wonders as well.  that sucks that y'all have had crappy service with them, i switched from centurylink and could not be happier, they went out of their to get me as a customer, gave me a good deal on the 50mb pkg, have only had it go out one time and that was during a storm.  and customer service has always been superb.   sorry y'all got the short end of the stick Emoticon  we are in a newer area than other parts of KW, maybe that has something to do with it,

If you block one of their numbers does it take care of all the calls from that company?

@Fallon: No, that's why I got three of their numbers blocked.

@Fallon: nope it doesn't they just use other extensions and get thru!  I never call to get donations picked up, I know thats how you get on their "list".  I always drive them to HAAM or whereever I chose.  I have gotten now to where I place fake numbers on places that require one.  LOL that way I can't get the calls.  if you sign up for something online or anywhere else and have to put a phone number down that gives up the right to do not call lists.  You have to end up redoing your list or block all. Emoticon  Especially if you go to say the reliant, sign up for some stupid drawing.  These will put you on a call list.  Read the fine prints.

Or you could just get rid of your landline.  That stopped all of our calls and lowered our bill too.  :-) 4951
