We've been doing it this way lately. Really. I cook them for 4 and 1/2 minutes - I don't have to get another pot dirty - and then we just shake them out. My kids love to help even though it's hot.  There's still a few fibers that you have to pick off.You can call it lazy all you want but man it's so much easier. I'm going to call it working smarter, not harder. 4951
Also good is corn stock - boil the leftover corncobs (cut off the kernels) in water for a long time and it forms a stock that's really good in soups or risotto. 4951
Been using this for a couple years now if you only want one or two (I found 3 doesn't work as well).If we need much more than that, we husk it regular, butter and salt it, wrap them in foil and 30 minutes in a 400 oven, perfect. Just put the foil wrapped ears right on the rack/s 4951
