I am going to try the impossible... Starting tomorrowI am going stop the intake of all non natural sugar. NO soda, no candy, no snack, sweet tea, no sugar in coffeeI am going to stop caffeine except I will be allowed one small 1 cup of coffee (with only cream and no sugar) per day. I don't drink that much coffee anyway. If  miss my coffee then I cant make it up. That means no Starbucks, or ice coffee or espressos.I am going to drink more water.I am going to cut back all alcohol,,, (this is going to be hard) except on super special events, such as a going away event for a co worker... so no alcohol at the meet-ups. bye bye margaritasMy goal is to start August 1st and see what I can accomplish within 1 month. More training and more water. No make up days,, and only cheats meals on special occasions. You cant eat healthy at a Mexican restaurant. I know there will be days when my body will required a little sugar and salt, so I will have to adjust.I want to see how much body fat I can lose. If I keep this up for 1 month, maybe I can keep it going. I don't want to start one of those special control meal diets,, I just want to cut the sugars as much as possible.  I think this is why I cant lose the body fat.  4951

@buddyboy: negative,,, that wont count. You have to stay strong. Only true dinner events.I have to keep a straight line.

Congrats @KTownTexican!  I gave up caffeine because it caused irregular heartbeats.  It was very tough for me to give up, but I did it.My wife and I started eating low carbs and low fat a couple of months ago.  We both quickly lost 20 lbs each, but are stalled there.  We are adding exercise to help lose more weight.I only drink a beer or two every once in a while and no hard liquor. 4951

@KTownTexican: You can do it!!!  When I had to have cancer treatments I did the same thing.  I loved my cokes and now when I even taste a coke it does not taste good to me.  Its important to drink that one cup of coffee so you won't get headaches without caffeine.  Make sure to eat apples or have natural sugar.  I feel much better even though I am on treatments.  It does make a difference.

@KTownTexican: You can do it!!!  When I had to have cancer treatments I did the same thing.  I loved my cokes and now when I even taste a coke it does not taste good to me.  Its important to drink that one cup of coffee so you won't get headaches without caffeine.  Make sure to eat apples or have natural sugar.  I feel much better even though I am on treatments.  It does make a difference.
 
@Ann2800:  Excellent point about fruits.  Our "desserts" are now primarily fruits and I love it.  I've learned that some parts of the body prefer to burn fats but some prefer some sort of sugar (including the brain).  Sugar being sucrose, lactose, fructose, glucose, etc.  So you can't totally eliminate "sugar" and fats, but we typically eat much more than our body needs. I hope your treatments are going well!

@Retired_Engineer: Thank you!   I am hooked on the hard apples red/green organic at Krogers.  They are great!  I have cut off all sugar hoping to cut off the cancer's fun times.  Fruits are so good and I never liked them like I do now.  No more cakes or pies for me at least until my tumor markers quit climbing.  Received my Blood test results today....Tumor Markers are climbing and liver enzymes are climbing also.  They said it may be to early in the treatment.  Asking for prayers!!!!!

After suffering a heart attack Harry Carey, the Cubs TV announcer, cut down on alcohol.  As he wrote in his autobiography, after the heart attack he only had a drink with breakfast, a few beers during the game, a drink with dinner, and a night cap. 4951
