Do any of you have recommendations on which oral surgeon to use/avoid? I'd appreciate any insight! 4951

avoid ALL of them!!

@mm4731: Yeah, well, that's not going to happen. We can't have the teeth messing up all that lovely work the orthodontist  has done!

@thegoodwife: That's good to hear because I was actually able to get her a consult with Dr. Stanton 2 weeks from today, which is a relatively short wait Emoticon

Scott Jones family denistry in Cleveland....about 25 minutes drive. He is the safest dentist within an hour drive. Also reasonable prices.....you won't be sorry.

No one has researched dentist like me....I promise you that.....LOL

I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out by Dr. Stanton last year...the
procedure itself went very well, easier than expected. My only complaint
is that they didn't give me good after-care info...when I came in for
my 2-week checkup, they were surprised that no one went through that
info with me....anyway, it probably would have healed faster and better
if they had given the info when they were supposed to. 4951

@KingwoodDotCom:

Unacceptable, not only should they have given it to you before, they should have given it to you again after.

Most accidental dental deaths are due to infection after you go home..'...... and dry sockets also
are a very painful experience

I had two of mine removed in mid-June, on a Friday morning Saturday was the worst of the experience (great drugs wore off, the prescription they gave me made me nauseous and dizzy so I stopped taking those). Honestly, my mouth was sore for a few days but the experience was nowhere as bad as I expected, and I managed to avoid dry socket.

Dr. Du Ponte in the Atascocita office - I was in for a consultation the same day my dentist referred me and in for surgery less than 2 weeks later (but I have a flexible schedule). Good luck! 4951

@ctl74: Her dentist is thinking she may not have to much trouble because the roots on hers  are not fully developed and still quite short, that's why he said sooner is better than later. Unfortunately, our schedule is only flexible until school starts.

@Attila - took my daughter to Dr. DaPonte - actually the same morning that @ctl74 went!. It was a very good experience. My daughter just had the top 2 to take out and by that evening she was asking if she could go over to a friend's house! We had 2 followup appointments to check how the healing was going. Mashed potatoes were a good food to start out with along with pudding and applesauce. 4951

When I was in high school, my dentist was my next-door neighbor and his office was at the end of our street. I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled at once and then walked home. I never felt any pain before, during or after. 4951
