Apparently will take place today. They are considering giving it landmark status. Seriously? Why preserve this piece of crap?Preservation Houston needs to put up or shut up. It's very simple...either take over ALL EXPENSES for maintaining it or get the hell out of the way and LET IT GO!! But oh no, PH wants to force everyone to keep it, but as usual, they don't want to and will not pay for it.

This drives me absolutely bat**** crazy! 4951

I couldn't agree more. They took it to the citizens (voters) and they voted to tear it down. Why take it to vote in the first place?

It's an eyesore to Houston. It was once great, now not so much. Sometimes you just jave to let things go. CUT THE CORD!

I took Judge Emmets comment that the proposed park idea was "silly" personally.  I voted once already not to spend any more taxpayer money on it. At least someone proposed something that was feasible AND reasonable.  He has been holding on to this decaying structure as if he were personally vested in this structure..... of course, he's probably hoping to get a piece of the action should someone come up with the money to do something else with it! 4951

@fcabanski:  Well, there ARE a lot of rats in City Hall, and Austin, and Washington DC.  Maybe they're just protecting their own.
