Do you have another friend or family that would split the cost?
@mommyof5: A friend of ours said they tried to share a membership with their adult daughter, and was told they couldn't share because they didn't live at the same address. I use Sam's for the cheap prices on cat litter, laundry soap, dishwasher tabs, K-cups, water and gas. Their rotisserie chickens are the best, so I'll occasionally fight the masses to go get a chicken for supper. Some of their fresh or frozen veggies are inexpensive, so if I'm there I'll get vegetables. I do like to buy their gianormous size spices - garlic & herb and onion flakes, cheaper than the grocery store.Their frozen ready to eat foods are standard fat-laden junk and I don't get sweets anymore, so don't buy that. But other than that - Sam's isn't all that cheap. I do feel I make my membership money back, so for me it's worth it. Costco --- too far to drive, I don't care if they are better than Sam's or that Sam's sells Walmart stuff --- no reason to drive to whereever to find a Costco for a few items. If they ever build a Costco up 59, I'll reconsider.
