Do any of you shop at Sams? Is it worth being a member? 4951

I go there mostly for business needs but also buy personal at times. I feel their meat selection is well priced. 4951

I only get the membership when they have a special. Do you have another friend or family that would split the cost? It depends on what you buy. Keep track. Of what you buy and the cost for awhile and see if it will pay for itself or if there are some products that you love that you can't find in the store ,You can always get a refund if you don't like it. 4951

Groupon has a special for 1 more day. $45 for membership but you get a gift card for $20 I believe and food vouchers. I love Sams around the holidays, especially if we're hosting the family dinners! 4951

@mommyof5: A friend of ours said they tried to share a membership with their adult daughter, and was told they couldn't share because they didn't live at the same address.  I use Sam's for the cheap prices on cat litter, laundry soap, dishwasher tabs, K-cups, water and gas. Their rotisserie chickens are the best, so I'll occasionally fight the masses to go get a chicken for supper.  Some of their fresh or frozen veggies are inexpensive, so if I'm there I'll get vegetables.  I do like to buy their gianormous size spices - garlic & herb and onion flakes, cheaper than the grocery store.Their frozen ready to eat foods are standard fat-laden junk and I don't get sweets anymore, so don't buy that.  But other than that - Sam's isn't all that cheap.  I do feel I make my membership money back, so for me it's worth it.  Costco --- too far to drive, I don't care if they are better than Sam's or that Sam's sells Walmart stuff --- no reason to drive to whereever to find a Costco for a few items.  If they ever build a Costco up 59, I'll reconsider.

@TexasOma:
Not sure how it is now, but in the past you could get two cards. My mother in law bought it and she had a card and I had a card and we didnt live at the same address 4951

I have never been a member. And I agree with others,,, its not worth the drive all the way to Humble. The prices are just about the same locally. Unless you plan on buying in bulk. I hope they build a Costco, near by, to give Walmart a challenge. I may join then. 4951

With the second card when I asked at cs they told me I could put down whoever I wanted.
I love their deli meats, dehydrated hash browns, cheese, Gatorade, nuts, baking supplies. Parchment paper. Sometimes it is nice not having to wait for it to go on sale and coupon to pick up certain things for about the same price to each their own. 4951
