I don't understand it.  I have been a pretty decent person throughout life , sure there have been the occasional slip-ups. possible felonies and other assorted shenanigans, but I don't think I deserve to be persecuted in this way.    I've got jihadi-toads,  little adolescent ones, as I mow they hop out in front of me, I guess to get away from the sound, or they are knowingly throwing themselves in front of my mower because of a false promises made to them about their being a better life after this one.  How it may very well be the hardest, most diffuclty, scary hop they have ever taken, but if they are successful, the wil bring graet glory to their toad family.   And the rewartds to them in the next life will be unimaginable.    Tales of endless troughs of mealy worms, of june bugs with one bring broken so they just spin on th patio, easy pickins.  These kids are being suckered in by lies and sacrificing themselves for nothing.   Not to mention the horrible moral battle I have to face every-time one jumps out in front of me.  Stop? Don't stop..Stop?   4951

They are young, you should mow your whole yard WITHOUT the blade running to properly train them.Any decent person would that.I am not sure about heartless, evil types.Toads eat a LOT of bugs.So having a large amount bugs present later is sort of Karma for being horrible.

I have to say it's been a banner year for toads- there are gazillions of them in my yard. We have his big old toad that lives in a hole in my decorative hose bib- I love him- he eats tons of bugs and occasionally I'll toss him a mealy worm ( that's what I feed my lizards to make sure they hang around 4951

@donnatella: Hehehe punny, but I just can't. I see em hopping and I stop, one stupid bastard kept hopping back into the path instead of away from it.   But there are times when I am tempted, hence my moral dilemma.    @jpgurl @fofa @herron1345I love that they eat alot of the bugs so more of them doesn't bother me in that sense.   I just like my Sundays to be relaxing. Posted this on my facebook and my ex yard person said they have ntoced the same thing,  last yeat and years prior I had never mowed my own yard, so it's possible this is normal toad wise, but I am seeing more of them on the patio too than in previous years.  Just now after letting the dog out, I saw another tiny one, i thought they had all hatched by now.  We have two cement sections on our patio, ever since Ella saw them coming out of there ,m she would water the crack in between the two cement sections to make sure hey had enough water,  it has excavated out enough area under there where there is probably room for a a whole coven of them.
