>> start digging it up to see if its the sprinkler system,, just dig slow,, turn off the water main to the sprinkler system. if the water stops,, then its the sprinkler,, if not,,, uh oh
@KTownTexican: thanks we did all that- it definitely a leak- we had All Pro out to assess and they came to the same conclusion. We want to hire out because it requires having to dig through routes- even on a reroute. We were impressed with the guys at All Pro BUT now we can't get them to call back to schedule sooo we're back to looking. We'll try Kenneths
@Jpgurl: good luck with that,,, we had a leak and we had a $15,000 bill after said and done. The leak was under the house right in the middle and they had to dig. My insurance paid only about $4000,, I had to eat the rest, because it was UNDER the house.I used American Leak Detection from spring.. they used a camera to run the sewer line and find the break. for them to run the camera,, is about $250.00
@KTownTexican: you had a 15,000.00 bill??? I'd die! Ours hasnt gone up a huge amount but the meter is running. Getting a little frustrated- All Pro and Kenneth's won't return calls. Lakeside estimated 1500.00 (1,000 higher than All pro)to lay a new line ( because of the tree roots involved) and the rest won't give us an estimate over the phone and want to charge to come out and look. Looks like dh will be renting a trencher and we'll be doing it ourselves. Oh we'll at least the ground is soft now
@Jpgurl:
YES,,,this was all sewer lines, they replaced. thanks to tree rootsThey had to dig under the house. that wasn't the cost. the cost was the testing and replacing all new pipes. first it was just about 20 feet of digging, but once they fixed that part they discovered that the break was farther in,, about another 30 feet. Â Since they were under the house, they recommended replacing connections from sinks, and toilet to the new larger pipe. then when they were done,, they noticed that the water was not flowing properly to the sewer and it was backing up towards the house. So they recommended to dig up the yard. (NO INSURANCE COVERAGE), replace the sewer line to the city. They saved me $800 by not digging 100 ft. to my neighbors and down,, they dug down my yard and replaced the old pipe with a new one. 4951
