I tried to not get too mad at these people and with all the suddenlink sucks threads on here I tried to keep my opinion civil...NOT ANY MORE! these people need to switch owners or turn their business over to someone else and start over. They have their heads so far up........well you get the picture. For almost 2 months I have dropped atleast 20 times a day....no not an exaggeration. At first I thought it was some upgrade going on or something. Then I didnt want to call because we were thinking of switching. They JUST put in a new modem 3 months ago so I wasnt sure what was wrong. I finally called because we were literally down 75% of the time and it dropped so much my fingers were getting sore from unplugging and unscrewing the modem for reset. We even tried hooking my lap top straight into modem and by pass the router...NOPE still dropped every 20-30 minutes ......sometimes sooner. Sometimes it would drop before I even got back to my recliner after a reset. The service I got on the phone was beyond rude...first he tells me on their end it showed absolutely no drops so it was our fault for using a 3rd party router and said that they would come out and use their router at 12 bucks a month. I said I was paying 137 a month for internet and cable and I wasnt paying a dime more till a tech comes out and tells me the problem because we tried by passing the router and that didnt work meaning it wasnt a router issue. He refused to believe my knowledge on such things and outright REFUSED to send a tech at my request because the issue wasn't on their end. I was livid and said send a tech or we cancel...end of conversation. So no appointment was set but yesterday afternoon a tech knocks on my door saying he was servicing the neighbors and needed in my back yard. I checked to make sure and told him that the box was in the neighbors behind  me. He refused to believe me and asked again, I walk around and show him where the box is and asked if he could put in an appointment for me. He was on the phone the whole time and was very rude in his tone and said I would have to call another tech. Not his problem I guess...LOL I tried to explain that I had tried and they wont send anyone and I was told call service or something like that...since his mouth and ears were glued to his cell I had trouble understanding what he mumbled as he turned his back to me.Well he went where the box was and whatever he did for the neighbor....FIXED OUR CABLE...IT HAS NOT GONE DOWN ONCE ON MY END in 24 hours and is running strong nor is my TV pixelizing like it was....so guess it wasnt on my end after all you @SSWIPESYes Im ****....I pay enough that I should atleast be able to request a tech to come out when there is an issue without being told its my end deal with it.so if our resident suddenlink gal bot wants to come in and say hey let me know what I can do to help......send me a check for 140 bucks to cover no use for a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WASNT ON MY END regardless what your computer is telling you!!!!!Rant over! 4951

@burnsway - they suck but unfortunately were you and I are our only choice is Suddenlink.  It used to drive me crazy because I would be filling out an application and the signal would drop right in the middle.  It happened numerous times per day.We also get pixilation on the tvs all the time and they still say nothing is wrong. My DH actually had to drop a class that he was taking online because it went out so often and was unreliable.I pay more than you but we are over a barrel and I hate it. 4951

Gotta wonder why the employees are so rude.   that isn't the company - it's the people

@Stealth83: With all the complaints they get the company knows so its their choice to allow it. This forum alone has a sudden link lurker that sees all the complaints...wonder where she is tonight....LOL @Fallon, they will be receiving both a letter and a visit. In my visit I may be nicer but I can promise that my post is the nice version of the letter Im gonna write....LOL

In 2009 they were rude to my wife on the phone.  I took the call then and told them we were through the moment they started talking to her that way.  We then switched to Dish which was offered through then-Embarq.  Dish was fine and cheap enough, but after a while I started thinking.  Why am I paying money to have television with commercials?  It makes no sense whatsoever.  I hate commercials and don't have time for that.  Yes we had a DVR but still, fast forwarding 30 seconds multiple times is still ridiculous, not to mention paying for channels we will never, ever watch.  So, we cut the cord.  For over a year now we have had only Internet through Centurylink, Netflix, and have Plex installed on our computer.  (We also have a great mohu Leaf antenna we got on Amezon; search for it there.)  Plex enables us to watch all of our CBS, ABC, and NBC shows for free without commercials.  We had Aereo for a while but got rid of it due to low quality; it's out now after the court ruling. The bottom line is this:  Paying for cable is only good, in my opinion, if you watch a lot of live sports that are not on regular broadcast television.  Otherwise, save your money and cut the cord! 4951

@AstroKing: I wish I had your guts to do that.  I'm such a creature of habit the thought of doing all you did scares me.But I envy you for doing it.

@Stealth83: The hardest part is the call to cut it.  Netflix really is that good now to where you no longer need cable.  The days are coming where you will be able to pick your own channels, a-la carte, instead of buying a big package like now.  Unfortunately that's still a while off because cable companies are too dumb to realize how much more money they could make that way.  That, and perhaps if they spent a little more on customer service, people wouldn't mind that cable bill so much.
