it was 65 degrees at 9am so I decided to mow the lawn ( acre) , got that done & thought I would strip the bed & do laundry washing all 4 pillows . While the washer was doing it's thing I weeded the gardens around the house & edged around the pool & patio . I didn't want the cooler weather to go to waste (LOL).  When all the wash was done & put away I went to the grocery store , bought 2 watermelons & a few items we out of for the freezer. Came home & washed  my van  & vacuumed the inside . When that was done I hosed off the front porch & wiped down the porch furniture , then I watered the gardens .It's now 3 pm so I decide to have a quick lunch  & start pricing items for our garage sale , once the pricing was done I had to sit up tables in the garage & carry everything out of the house .Our oldest daughter & her hubby called & asked me out to dinner , so a quick shower & dressed & they picked me up for an evening out . Dinner was good but the company & conversation  turned an other wise dull evening into a very enjoyable night out. I arrived back home at 9:30 pm & got ready for bed , hubby called me at 10 pm from Houston , he was still on the road  from making service calls all day , he will be home on Sunday . Not a bad day for someone who is in their 70's ....got to stay active to stay young (LOL).  4951

@WJo:

Holy crap......I don't think I would of accomplished 1/2 of what you did and I'm 41.

You remind me of my grandmother.  She was a go getter like you, up at the crack of dawn and lived to 93.

Keep up the great work @WJo.  You will definetly stay young. :o) 4951

When we were kids, my grandparents used to take us to down the shore every year in Jersey.  My grandmother could walk those board walks longer and faster than any of us kids.

This the month before she died, she walked every Friday to the hair salon.  It was a good 4 miles in each direction.  She never missed it.  Even when my grandfather retired years before she still walked there. 4951

@WJo, send us that cool weather lady!   Being active is the best thing you can do for your bones and joints.  And mentally too.  My Granny was always active.  Read daily, and rarely ever sat down.  Never heard her tell me she had nothing to doEmoticon

And rain.  I would love a rainy weekend!

@Fallon:
I don't like rainy weekends because I do like to get out of the house.  And when it rains I have to watch too many kids movies and beat my kid at board games...lol...she's a sore loser...lol 4951

@Fallon...come stay with us this week-end we are suppose to have lots of rain  starting late Saturday night  lasting thru Monday . Our grass is a lush deep green & it feels like a thick soft carpet when you walk on it with your bare feet. I'm predicting an early winter  since the leaves are already starting to fall & the squirrels have full bushey tails already . Our night time temperatures have been in the 50's  this week & suppose to be again next week , with daytime temps in the low 80's .Our pool has not been getting much use this year because of the night time coolness . But that's okay by me . I love , love , love sleeping with the windows open & the ac turned off. 4951

That is perfect weather.  Put a sweater on at night when it gets cold and warm during the day.  I wish TX was like that. 4951

@Dotti573....we lived in Kingwood Texas for 6 years  & I loved our house & our neighbors but I missed our home in Kentucky & was very sad most of the time.  The heat & humidity were terrible & the only nice time of the year was in the winter (LOL). I was so glad to come back home & actually have 4 seasons & snow in the winter . We have been back home for almost 2 years & I told my hubby that I would never move again , I'm too old for one & when I die I want to be here where all our relatives are . Hubby & I were in a really bad accident when we lived in Texas  & it took me a year to recover from it , not one person in Texas asked if there was something they could do for us , no one called & no one stopped by to see if we were doing okay .......however our family & friends from Ky. came & stayed 3 weeks to help us , called every day & even sent food to us .When we moved back home all our old neighbors & friends stopped by to welcome us back home & told us how much they missed us , they brought food & stayed to help us unpack & get settled .That's what we missed while we were in Texas , and why we wanted to come back to Ky & our home. 4951

My DH is an only child and my mother and father inlaw live in Spring.  I have some friends here and alot of acquantainces.  I do miss the friends and family I had back in Jersey.  Especially when I see all the get togethers and fun things everyone is doing on FB. 4951

@Dotti573....you are really fortunate when we moved to Kingwood  we had no one  , my hubby had his job & made friends at work , but they were all younger & had young children & we were lot's older with no small children so we were never invited to parties , etc. Here at home we have   BBQ's  & family  fun every week -end because all our families live within 50 miles , except for our 2nd oldest daughter & she lives in Iowa with her family & has for over 20 years . She went away to college , met her husband & never came back home except to visit  once or twice a year . Our neighbors in Texas invited us to  their children's birthday parties & we  always attended because it felt a little bit like home, but even though we loved the kids they were not our grand kids & we were missing seeing our great grand kids grow up , so after 6 years in Texas we came home . It was wonderful  & now we get to watch of grand kids grow & we get to see how they are growing up instead of just getting photo's & letters & talking on the phone. It's really difficult to be away from the ones you love & care for , it  saddens me to think of the 6 years we missed  while we were in Texas  . But we made a lot of good friends while we were in Texas & we treasure those friendships dearly. 4951
