Trying to avoid calling Suddenlink. Since yesterday we have been unable to access Facebook, YouTube and Google. I get a message that says "Something is currently interfering with your secure connection......" I am logged in with our wifi with our password. This is on all computers in the house. What could be suddenly causing this? I am currently running a virus scan. Would appreciate any help ya'll can give.

Try disconnecting your modem for 30 seconds,,,,, we lose connection with sudden link about 20 times a day...they just put in a new modem 3 months ago but looks this one is going bad already....we havent called because we are deciding on whether to drop the or not but we get what you get often too.Sudden link sucks, 4951

Ok....it appears we were over our allotted useage and I had to teply to something that popped up on my phone. You would think that Suddenlink would have notified me on the computer. Strange. We've never gone over before. Wonder if it has to do with the new modem we got last week? Thanks for the help! All other websites were accessible just not the 3 I mentioned earlier....weird. 4951

When my son was living with us, we exceeded the "normal" usage level defined by Suddenlink for two months.   I got an email each time alerting us and recommending we check our firewall and scan for viruses.  They never blocked us or throttled our speed back. 4951

It's not the modem, Modem would not allow online at all. If you can get on the internet and go to regular sites like KW.com your connection and modem are working.  Most likely a virus is stopping the individual sites you are attempting to go to.  Try running a virus scan with your internet security and see if it brings something up. 4951

Had a similar Suddenlink problem yesterday, several times I could get Yahoo but no FB or other sites.  Had to unplug the modem several times during the day and it would come back to life.  I did get a notice the other day that the system would be down sometime this week for an upgrade.  Might be related. Working fine now. 4951

Yes, Suddenlink has instigated an maximum allowance usage per month, the amount depending on your download speed.  Ours is 10 mbps and we were charged a $10 fee for going over our allotment last month.  It says it waives the first two months, however, I did not know there was an allowance until the fee.  Beware.Suddenlink.com/allowanceplan 4951

@s7even:
It's actually been there well over a year. It's in the terms you agreed to but no one reads. It's not just suddenlink, I don't know of a single provider that does not have a cap policy. CenturyLink has one as well and theirs is lower.

Sudden link showed up at my door earlier tonight trying to sell me service. Very pushy lady. Kept telling her no and she wouldn't take it. Finally I shut the door in her face. 4951

never heard of the allowance...guess I dont max it because my bill is the same every month but even so it should not cause being dropped or ****** service, if they charge you a fee you think they would want you to exceed it...bottom line the service is not good...plain and simple. Just too many complaints for me to think its just me....lol 4951

It's summer.  Wife's off for the summer, three daughters with phones and Netflix.  Perfect storm to go over my allowance, which I did.  Can't wait for this month's bill. 4951
