I was surprised! It was a full size deer. I was heading down Mills Branch at 7 am this morning right near Acorn Lane and was about to turn left into the strip center with Subway and my gym. It ran in front of me (not too close) and then across to the parking lot and on to Dunham Road. 4951

@jls2:
I saw it too. I was heading the opposite way (towards Northpark) than you.

@rundmv - were you in the large SUV that had to stop to let it go by? Or in the car behind that one? 4951

We were riding in Eisenhower yesterday at the butt crack of dawn and saw a ton of deer. There was a doe with a good sized fawn- still had it's spots. And then a buck and a doe. The buck was starting to grow some antlers. I don't hunt so don't know if it's early or on time for them to grow antlers. They're fairly tame in the park- not apt to run although I've had a couple bolt down the road parallel to my bike.
Dd saw an alligator in Lake Houston this AM at East End

Probably be even more heading towards KW as they continue to rip out of every stretch of woods along the west shore of Lake Houston. 4951

I see them almost daily where I live.  I don't eat them, but each to his own! 4951

When we moved here 21 years ago, we were on the edge of developed Kingwood.  We would frequently see deer, rabbits, raccoons, squirrels, and other critters.   Other villages have since been put in and we rarely see deer.On the plus side, I have seen two pileated woodpeckers here.  They are MUCH bigger than the red-headed woodpeckers I am used to seeing. 4951

We see them just about every time we play golf, on the course, most of the time there are several in a group, pretty tame too, they usually stop and stare at you for a while.  4951
