With all the fireworks stands going up over the last two weeks, does anyone have any insight on where to go to get some decent fireworks at a lower cost? I had an acquaintance who used to be able to get wholesale costs but he got out of the business a couple years ago. We used to fill up a large trunk full of the good stuff and only spend 150 or so... At the stands 150. Fill up a 1/4.. any leads or locations on where fireworks are being sold at a lower cost then theses stands?? 4951

Isn't there a fireworks warehouse still in business on 1960 in Atascocita/Humble?  I see it everytime I drive by but I can't remember if it's still open during the season or not.  That could be cheaper, buying direct, than buying from the independently owned stands here and there.

Also, be very careful as fireworks are illegal in the Houston city limits.  At times, there are officials watching that bust people taking them back in the city. Not sure of the exact territorial lines, but I've heard of people getting tickets. 4951

@NewToTexas: Normally, I would love a free fireworks show in my backyard - but since it doesn't happen until after darkness, and I have an 18-mo old who goes to bed at 8p... in a few more years I would be fine with it. lol

@ctl74Well, I can completely understand that.. it's a good thing I am not your neighbor this year then... I would have to give up a neat show, so I wouldn't wake the little one. 4951

@ctl74: I had not thought about that. Darn.We did fireworks in our cul-de-sac on NYE.  Our neighbor had some bigger, louder ones, and he promised to clean it all up the next day, but it seemed that everyone in his house slept until 3 p.m., so DD and I did most of the cleanup.Anyway, with an itty bitty one, we might not be able to do so many loud ones for the 4th. And I won't have much  free time for cleanup on the 5th.
