That's GREAT news!! Our Beaux(Bassett) had them when we adopted him. The rescue Vet said that his chances of beating it without the arsenic were good because he is big, young, and otherwise healthy. They had given him a 6 month preventative shot to combat the HW, and it worked. He tested negative in April, and then went on a monthly preventative(ComboGuard) like the rest of our pups. Sidenote: I love that they mail our pups' pills to us every month. It definitely makes it harder to forget.  4951

>> what did you use to help.

@KTownTexican: we initially went with the fast kill method where they give them two shots in the back followed by two more 30 days later. But we only did the first round because he almost died from it. Once we got him better we just gave him a monthly dose of iverheart to slowly kill of the remaining worms

@mm4731:

Sneakers had it when we got herEmoticon We have her on slow kill with doxycycline every 60 days for a month at a time to weaken the adult worms, and trifexis. They usually don't use trifexis, but she had been on it consistently without issue so the vet kept her on it. They said it should take less than 2 years to test negative. I'm looking forward to that. Congrats, mm! 4951
