A single tenant apartment fire at Kingwood Lakes, across from Kingwood High School, had three fire trucks on the scene today. No injures were reported but the source of the fire is under active investigation. Adjacent apartments were damaged by fire and smoke. Fortunately the Fire Department was able to respond before the fire spread and caused further damage. 4951

The owner is the shirtless guy with tattoos. He told me the investigators are blaming him for the fire. He also admitted to having no rental insurance and losing several thousand dollars of electronics and furniture. The first thing he mentioned was being upset at losing his book collection. It seemed unlikely to me that he would intentionally torch his own belongings. 4951

@Drekonix: All this while he has a cigarette in his hand......hhhmmmmmm. Book collection must be code slang for something else. Someone that doesn't have renter's insurance doesn't seem "book smart" to me. 4951

@BooBear: No, he doesn't even do the thug look well. That just looks terrible. Like it was done with a do-it-yourself kit. 4951

@WskyTngoFxtrt: He mentioned he cancelled his insurance because he was only a few weeks away from moving. He was also smoking because he was extremely stressed out. Don't judge a book by his cover. Rather "but by the content of their character." I'm pretty sure someone "book smart" said that.

@Drekonix: You don't cancel your insurance until AFTER you move. A book smart person would know that. He learned an expensive lesson. Thanks for the story and pix BTW, Dex. 4951

More importantly...why are his pants unzipped?

I do feel bad that he has lost all his belongings. As for not having renters insurance...maybe he couldn't afford it. Who are we to judge?

When the apartments caught fire in Atascocita a while back everyone was only concerned with how they could help. Just sayin.... 4951

Maybe he tried to pee on the fire before it got out of control? 4951

He had enough money to get all of those tattoos and cigarettes. And all the electronics he claimed to have lost. 4951
