I hate packing, even for just a 2-day trip. I will inevitably forget something very important. I tend to over pack too, which makes it more embarrassing when I don't bring everything. But do you know who doesn't forget anything?? My wife! On one hand, I could conveniently forget to pack today. Which in turn she will yell at me, call me a dumba**, but then pack my bag.Option 2 is to do it myself. There will be no name calling or yelling, but I'll probably end up with 4 extra shirts, 6 chargers for only two devices, and no underwear.  4951

This problem is readily avoided by simply staying home. 4951

I made a Travel Packing List.  If we don't need an item for a trip, we scratch through it.  We highlight items as we pack/load them. 4951

@BBQguy Just relax! There's nothing you could forget that you can't grab at a Walmart somewhere. Pack what you think you should, and when lilham1 gets home, so can check it for you Emoticon
This was the only serious response you'll ever get from me, so I hope you enjoyed it. 4951

I also make a list when I pack. One thing I sometimes forget is earplugs in case there are strange noises where ever I'm sleeping. 4951

My husband is a perpetual over packer also. It drives me crazy. He'll lay his stuff out, pack it up, unpack it to check for everything...and do it all over again 2 or 3 times. Maybe it's a military thing. I don't know. But as long as I have a change of clothes and a toothbrush, I'll survive.

What makes me even more angry than his insecurity in his bag packing abilities...is that when he comes home, even though he didn't wear 1/2 of what he packed...somehow ALL of it ends up in the laundry basket for me to wash. Emoticon 4951

Not sure if it's a good or bad thing, but I travel enough that I sort of have it down.  Takes me about 10 minutes to pack for a 5-day business trip.  I like to do it myself because then I know exactly where everything is.  Same with my laptop bag.  I pack the same items in the same place every single time.  Not sure if it's the old soldier in me or the old engineer in me but I haven't forgotten anything on either end of a journey in a long time.   4951

There is a trick to packing light and I am the queen! I never bring a hair dryer. I count the days and bring only...ONLY clothes for the days I'm going to be there and I know we will be going to dinner/out on the town.. One pair of pants and a few tops that can all go well with one pair of shoes.. I will wear the same outfit twice. Who is going to know? Especially if you are going to visit family and not going anywhere but to the kitchen or the living room.  I don't bring a whole bunch of product. Conditioner yes..but in travel size bottles. I can pack in a carry on bag and be good for 7 days easy. Less is more! 4951

I overly pack too because I have the classic case called the "just in case" whenever I am packing. I have an extra for the extra LOL 4951

Organize and list the things you need to pack a few days before helps a lot. Go over the list with your wife (do it together) that way two heads can account for what is still missing. Scratch-off whatever is already packed and ready-to-go. Yay for teamwork! 4951
