Where is a nice romantic place for dinner that is local? We're celebrating our anniversary and I don't want to go some place overpriced and lousy. 4951

Congratulations on 15 years!   Union Kitchen would be a good place.  Very nice, a little expensive, and mostly good food. 4951

@Retired_Engineer: We tried it and hated it. The food was lousy and the service was worse!!

@Ally:   We went once.  Very nice atmosphere, we had great service, but the food was just so-so, and a little pricey.   But, it was the only place I could think of!

I gotta go with Amadeo's.   Off of 494 in the front of Kingwood.Always get amazing service.  And their bread pudding is to die for.  It isn't cheap, but it is well worth itEmoticonI don't care for Chimichui's unless it is lunch.  Their service is usually just so so.  Raffia's is good.  But if they have live music, bring ear plugs.Cafe Du Bois, always worth the visit.Union Kitchen is pricey and to me, the dishes are hit or miss.  If you get a miss, and get your bill you will not be happy. We usually go downtown somewhere if we want really nice.

@Fallon: The area from downtown to west along Westheimer and Richmond has a lot of great restaurants.  Just have to be in the mood for a drive!

I can't vouch for Amadeo's (never been there), but there is a coupon in the monthly direct mail envelope.I've had Chimichurri's for lunch and it was delicious. And I have a restaurant.com certificate that I can't wait to use at Cafe Du Bois. 4951

If you go to Cafe du Bois, be sure to talk to the sommelier Cheryl. Very hospitable. We did not order wine when last there but we really enjoyed talking to her. 4951
