For years I have seen this older man and his son walking around various parts of Kingwood wearing an orange safety vest picking up trash along the streets. I see him just about every Friday morning doing Northpark drive, but I see him in lots of different places. I've always been curious about the story behind these guys, it's so nice what they do! Anyone know? 4951
Do you mean Mort Winter?Read the article in this link:Â http://www.yourhoustonnews.com/archives/one-man-s-mission-to-keep-kingwood-beautiful/article_cf29aa38-63e5-5251-bfd8-52727c552741.html?mode=jqm 4951
The article from 2010 in the link says he picks up trash on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I see a guy doing the same thing on KW drive sometimes when I'm leaving for work during the week. Is this the same guy? 4951
He's a great guy. He's trying to keep kingwood beautiful. If anyone had a problem with it or wants to assume or even criticize, y don't u go do it. How about rolling down a window and saying thank you sir. 4951
YES its the same guy -Â he is awesome.. Back when my kids were in scouts we gave him an award or had him speak to the kids.... it's been a long time ago !! 4951

I've lived in Kingwood for 23 years, the first 7 in Hunters Ridge. He lived right down the street from us back then. Â And he's been picking up trash for at least that long....23 years! At one point, a teenage boy was helping him who was probably his son based on his looks. What a nice article posted and a kind man for keeping Kingwood beautiful! 4951

People need to stop being so judgemental and instead spend all of this free time reading their bible. Check out this verse first... Matthew 7:2. 4951
Here is a great big THANK YOU to Mort Winters! Â You have to admire someone who gives his own time and energy to make the community a little better! 4951
