How in the world do you handle stress? I am at my limit and am about to explode.  4951

I use my imagination to pretend I'm somewhere else.

Right now I'm at black rock beach drinking a mai tai

@Angie1002: Evidently I cry.  I am not an emotional person so I was amazed when I recently discovered it. I think I have cried, yelled and screamed more in 3 days than I have in over 2 years.

The most stressful situations are those that we could do something about but can't due to other considerations; the rock and hard place scenario. 4951

@Angie1002:

I know the feeling. Sitting down and watching my favorite tv helps by myself. I've learned to try to take it one day at a time. Do what you can and lean on people for help. I've vented on here and got advice from wonderful people the last couple of weeks. Sweet messages too. I'm here if you need an ear! Hugs! 4951

Sometimes to relieve intense stress I'll pick a fight with people on the internet.  Kind of like an online version of "Fight Club".   4951

Don't sweat the small stuff!  Back off and evaluate the things that are causing you stress.  Chances are, most of them are not as big a priority as you think.  When I worked, I kept a list of all of the things I needed to do.  Then I went back and gave three stars (astericks) to those things that needed to get done NOW.  Two stars where for those things that needed to get done soon. And one star was for those things that could wait a while.  Focus only on those tasks with three stars and don't even worry about the two and one stars until all of your three stars are done.  Reevaluate your list every morning to scratch off completed tasks, add new tasks, and to re-rate them as necessary.  Eventually, some of the two and one stars became three stars, but that's life.Also, take a short break every couple of hours to stop, rest your eyes and your mind, and do some relaxing stretching. 4951

And cry when you need to. I just do a quick cry and I feel better. Nothing wrong with crying! 4951
