It's not all that difficult to do yourself if you have time time.

I was going to say the same thing. If you have a grinder, it's pretty easy. 4951

@WskyTngoFxtrt: In the video he also shows you how to do it with just a plain old metal file, that's how I've done it in the past because I don't own a grinder either.

Also, if you're taking the blade off yourself, pull the spark plug cable so that the engine doesn't accidentally start up and chop off some fingers....or worse. 4951

I always preferred using a hand file. Make sure they balance the blade after sharpening or you'll get a bad vibration when mowing. 4951

I use a dremel tool on mine.  Works just fine. BE SURE TO WEAR EYE PROTECTION WHEN DOING THIS.  Those little metal shavings are a pain in the butt. 4951

My first question is, what are we cutting with the blades?     4951

@NewToTexas:

It's a lawnmower blade. I'm guessing not lunch meat. 4951

@humble mommy Well that's good to know, I was worried just a  bit... lol  You can always buy a new blade from the local hardware store, sometimes it's cheaper for a new blade. 4951

When we took it behind skeeros it was 10.00 to have them sharpen it. Now we just buy a new one just a lot easier. 4951

@Retired_Engineer: how sweet of you but that message was too late I ended up dropping it off behind skeros on northpark. ( BEHIND Shipley drive thru)
guy said it would be $10 and I can come back at 6 to pick up

@Humble Mommy:  Glad you're being taken care of.  I would have offered earlier but my wife had some errands for me.  $10 is a very reasonable price.
