Ok, I live in Fosters Mill at the end of a cul-de-sac. Mowing the yard this PM after the monsoon because grass is looking tall and had the wife's SUV parked directly in front of my house so I can blow out the garage. As I am working my way to the street, I see a City of Houston car parked looking at my wife's vehicle. At first I think it is a Water guy but he rolls down the window and motions me to come over. As I am walking to his car I see the City of Houston Parking Division sticker and he tells me that I need to move the vehicle since I am not parked properly. He tells me that I should be parked toward the flow of traffic and that there have been complaints of people parking in the street.  At this point I am a little lost since the vehicle is like I said, parked in front of MY house at the end of a cul-de-sac. I mention this and go ahead and move the vehicle anyway. He leaves but I am sure that I was about to get a ticket if I would not have been outside. Now, I have no issues with moving the vehicle but seriously, it's about 7 PM. Bigger issue is that my garage and several other homes/vehicles were broken into back in February and I have seen 0 (zero) HPD's in my hood on patrol but I have the City of Houston telling me how to park. What is going on here? I am like WTF? Sorry, rant over. Â
@TexasTideFan: No i totally agree, I had an HPD officer stop me the other day and tell me I was parked incorrectly as an excuse to try and search my vehicle and get a close up of my inspection and registration. My license was a few days from expiring and he sat that and hassled me about that for a few minutes before letting me go.
