I am so glad this physics project is over because some of the kiddos were really stressed out about it. My daughter and her mates made it all the way across the pool and back! 4951

My daughter said it was fun, but from a grade standpoint she felt bad for the kids whose boats sank. One of the people in her group never showed up one time to help but was sure there today to take credit! 4951

@attila: That happens all the time .... I am not a fan of group projects for that very reason.

@GoldenGirl, same here. It's always been that way for my daughter, but at least she and the others that really worked hard are not the kind of kids to throw the other girl under the bus! I think that it also reflects what often happens once they are out in the workforce. 4951

My daughter's boat made it across too. My kids are 3 for3 on the boat project.

Their boat didn't sink, but some boy felt the need to push my princess in the pool.

It is generally hard to get several high school kids together to do a project. My daughter's group seemed to figure it out, not easy but it somehow worked.

All 3 of mine really had fun with the boat project. 4951

@Puzzles, it is a real job to get kids together, especially with everything going on at the end of the school year. The weather wasn't much help either! That boat was in my living room for a week while they finished construction and decorated it. The cats enjoyed it and are now wondering what happened to their new house! 4951

I bet that was interesting seeing all of those students trying to put them in car after the "event."  We should have taken a picture of the parking lot yesterday and today to see how many boats there were. 4951

I think one of the other moms picked it up after they were finished. Maybe I should ask for it so the cats won't be mad at me! 4951

I guess you didn't go watch either. I know of some parents who went to watch at the pool yesterday. 4951
