I created an account on December 2013 but only have I now (for the last 2 weeks) been seriously logging food and reading some of the material.Anyone else from KDC on the MFP website looking to get a little healthier? 4951

@jax: I have been thinking of you lately, because I am on a 14 day My Finess Pal streak and have dropped over 7 lbs. I feel fantastic! Now bread products, pastas, sugar or crap including diet drinks is the key to feeling great!
Everyone needs to do this!

@topcat: Stop trying to drag everyone up with you! EmoticonI did try one of those trackers, had a scanner where you could scan the bar code for what you eat. Got to be a hassle, so I stopped messing with that.

I've been using it to track my food and workouts for about 3 months now and I think it works great.  Especially being able to scan in your foods.  Not to mention it integrates with mapmyrun and many other applications.  I am down 29lbs using myfitnesspal, definitely keeps it real! 4951

It is pretty handy, but it was so tiring adding every little thing (if you want good results).Specially if you do the cooking. 4951

I used to use the app, but I am terrible at remembering to log stuff. Plus if I'm busy at work and only have a few minutes every 15 minutes to take a bite of food, I was never sure how to log that lol 4951

I love that app. I joined about 2 years ago and lost 20 but then got tired of logging everything. Now after gaining way more weight back, im logging food again. Ive logged for 2 weeks now and lost 10 pounds. I think of it as a competition, I set my goals and have to stay under the calories and carbs for the day, if I succeed I win and if I fail... I feel like crap and I hate feeling like crap! My calorie goal is set to 1200 a day and im not starving. Its all about planning your meals. 4951

I guess it all depends on how disciplined you are, what your commitment level is and how bad you want to lose weight.  If you really want to make changes and get results then you won't mind tracking your food intake and your exercise output.  Weightwatchers works the same way except you have points....you are still tracking either way.  And tracking works...be it with calories or money, it raises awareness and helps you keep focus. 4951

@Elizanicholson: I have mine at 1400 cause I like my fruit. It seems if I set it at 1200 I don't have enough for fruit. Plus, I didn't gain this weight overnight, so a pound or two small loss an month is worth it to be able to eat a little more. That's one thing I love about MFP. You can customize it. No one's telling you what to eat or how much. You decide!

@mrsames77: Logging the food helps me feel like I am officially finished with a meal. No more seconds or munching down whole I put the leftovers away. It really does the trick!
