My nephew in middle school just withdrew from school and will be home schooled. Can the homeschoolers on here give me some info/websites that would be useful for my nephew and my sister. Thank you very much.

@N+T: check online with James Madison. I'm not sure if they are only a HS or start with younger grades.

my granddaughter enrolled her daughter in K12 , but after a year she with drew her & she is now in a private school. She said home schooling did not leave her any time to do the things she  needed to do during the day , like grocery shopping , cleaning house , errands.....both are much happier now ....sorry that's all the information I have . 4951

what area? sorry I missed this, had a lot going onIf in our area have them join HEART but wait till June 4 or 5 as yearly renewals are then, no need to pay twice....LOL, they do A LOT!!!! facebook is full of homeschool sites with lots of freebies too. Posted Already on your other thread but have them join http://www.thsc.org/In Texas you can use any curriculum you want. Also a personal advice is to not over freak and spend time finding out the kids learning style before spending thousands on curriculum. They might want to deschool a few months(most suggest 1 month per year they were in public school)...thats where YOU DO NO SEAT WORK...just fun activities. This helps the child and parents get their bond back so they can work together better. Dont worry about any fall behind...they can do 2 years in a year easy once they learn his style. If not in our area tell them to find a group in their area, it helps the parents with so much and will allow for lots of fun activities.THE LIBRARY IS NOW THEIR BEST FRIEND........LOL 4951

Time4learning is a good site.

@BooBear: we are primary project and activity based but we do time4learning to make sure all basis are covered(supplement). It took my daughter less than 4 months to do all the 3rd grade work with only like 2 hours a day. Its a very reasonably priced (20 a month)program and in no time at all you dont have to do anything as the kids learn to teach themselves with parent just grading and looking over the work...time4learning even grades it and averages the grades. Its a very good program for kids that dont learn by seat work and worksheets.....IMO.I DO NOT SUGGEST A k12 program, its pretty much public school at home but some like it...not our thing!http://www.time4learning.com/

@N+T: Most defiantly have them join heart, its like 25 a year...so much support so many things to get involved with and so many of us are doing different programs so she will get a lot of info, make a lot of friends and lots of activities. Have her wait till after june 5th I believe it is when renewels take place...its easy, she will just pay online and have instant access to the calendar of activities and the forums where she can ask questions.https://www.homeschool-life.com/tx/heart/

Consider using an online public school.  We use Texas Virtual Academy and K12.  This is our second year and we love it.  The school provides a computer, books, teacher assistance at no cost.  4951
