Ladies, do you tinkle in front of your SO? Guys, do you drain the lizard with the door wide open? Most of the articles I've read on the topic say it's no big deal for a man to go in front of his woman, but when the tables are turned, the ladies tend to be more private. My relationship is the opposite. I've been married before, and I've had 3 kids. So taking a tinkle in front of DH  (even when we were newlyweds) never seemed like a big deal to me. But after 2 years together, he still comments that it's weird. He always shuts the door when he goes.Opinions? 4951

No problem doing that here. As a matter of fact- when we moved here we took the door off the toilet room because of the convoluted bathroom design- the toilet room door opened into the bathroom suite door- and we kept banging the doors together or hit ourselves with one of the doors.
You're right tho- after kids you lose ALL sense of privacy 4951

I'm more private than DH. I try to close the door, but either the dogs or my toddler rips it open as soon as they realize I'm in there.

For numero dos, the door gets closed. There's no conversing during that. 4951

It's no big deal in our house. DH used to be weirded out by any of that stuff, and now it's almost weird to get privacy lol. That's because we usually have a dog or cat tearing down the door trying to get to us. 4951

@MAHM: Same here.  Doesn't bother her at all but I've always had a shy bladder...which made all of those whiz-quizzes I had to take during my 21 years of military service just such a joy.  Not.
Best part about our master bath for her is that she can watch TV while in the shower.  Best part for me is that the commode is behind its own door. 4951

@Jpgurl: We had a pocket doors installed in the half bath and master toilet area because of the same thing.

@shodan66: Yea, and those troughs at the Dome were so fun also.In basic we had old WW2 barracks with one big room with 10 toilets basically facing each other (well offset) 5 on each wall. So fun doing your business facing some other dudes. Not to mention watching other guys wiping their butts.

@bp2018: I know what you mean. If I can't find the cat, that is a sure way that he will make an appearance. As soon as I close the bathroom door, he is right there caterwauling on the other side.

I leave the door ajar so the cat(s) can get in, but it's close to closed. 4951

@FoFa: After being with Infantry (enlisted) and Air Cav (warrant) units on active duty, when I got out and went into the Guard I was assigned to an Engineering battalion.  First time in the same unit with female soldiers.  During our two-week summer camp we had a couple of females using the same two-seater plywood-over-cathole latrine as us.  There was a sign they were supposed to turn around when they went behind the curtain so we'd know to stay out.  Day 3 or 4 I'm in there doing my business and one of them walks in, sits down, and does her own.  Never even acknowledged I was there.  To this day I still find that incredibly odd.  LOL

@shodan66: They had co-ed bathrooms in S. Korea. Not on the military bases, but out in the "world".
First time I discovered it I was standing at the urinal by the door and a group of lovely's walks in.Since I was at a Urinal (with no dividers mind you) I was pretty sure I wasn't in the womens restroom. After finishing and going back out and asking my buddies, and them getting a good laugh at the newbie, I learned. What did I learn, use the urinal furthest from the door Emoticon 4951

@FoFa: Same for showers in parts of Europe.  I was augmented over to Germany to take part in REFORGER 1988 and ran a 12k with some guys in my unit.  We hit the showers and was surprised to see it was coed.  We were all 18-20 year old soldiers...so we were pleasantly surprised.  :-)
