I try to keep dates original but after a while it becomes hard to continually come up with creative and fun ideas. I need some ideas from y'all, something fun that you rarely or never have the opportunity to do, and preferably local to our area. 4951

Go to a restaurant that has a chef's table with VIP service.
Attend a wine tasting or cooking class
Painting with a Twist or Pinot's Pallette

Do we get to screen the girl first?  We want you to have only the best.

Is she into outdoor stuff?  Canoeing, kayaking, and horseback riding can all be fun.  If she doesn't dig it, you can always just paddle/ride away from her and enjoy the quiet.  LOL 4951

I was actually thinking about the kayaking thing and then she mentioned going out would give her the opportunity to wear the dress she bought and I thought.... oh okay so it's not that kind of date... 4951

@donnatella:

Shouldn't a date involve activities that BOTH parties would enjoy??? If ya just focus on female desired stuff you present a false image and/or set yourself up to be a Beta.

@Odin:  There are a lot of guys into wine and gourmet cooking.  Plus, it's interactive and something you both can do together.  What do you want me to suggest, I weekend at the Houstonian or Hotel ZaZa for a naughty naughty fest?  Geez. 4951

@Drekonix You wanted it local, and that's the hard part. Things we have done that I loved are: Comedy Club (Improv in Houston), Biaporettis Murder Mystery Dinner- I did one one time on a boat that leaves from Kemah, and that was cool too, Dinner at a swanky restaurant (that's more private and romantic), and there's always the Woodlands waterway. 4951

You can also take a day trip to Messina Hof winery.  They have a wine tour and other activities, plus a great restaurant.

Check around for local festivals, etc.  It might be worth a bit of a drive.

Maybe you can have a DIY type date? Set up a sheet in the park and use a projector to make your own "drive in" theater. Bring a blanket and make it a picnic. Make it a little later in the evening, add some battery operated candles and viola! Instant romance Emoticon lol

Or you can go to the waterway like @topcat suggested. That works too and it's very pretty at night. 4951

@Drekonix I think you should get a group of us kdc ladies together and take us to all the places suggested. Then, we will deliberate like a jury and rank the activities in order of awesomeness. Also, you will look pimptastic with a table full of hotties like us Emoticon 4951

First date?

If so, just make it informal and meet for coffee. Don't let first impressions affect you as they are often wrong. Give it an hour at least.

Then, plan a day trip if you don't creep her out (and vice versa).

You really get to know someone when you are stuck with them for a day or so. Removes false initial impression errors as well.

Even better if the trip is an imperfect adventure (meaning at least one thing goes tragically wrong). You'll either bond over it or she'll have an "issue" and you'll see the real person behind the shell.
