@mattem: You need to look at your actual charges, not the publicized base rate. You need to do like
@topcat and divide your total bill by actual KWH used to get a clear picture. I am on a Reliant plan and paid an average of $0.12/KWH last year. It's probably going to go up at least a penny/KWH this year because of those extra fees. My base rate is $0.078/KWH.
@topcat: Before I renewed my contract last November, I looked at the previous years usage. This is the data I had for that period. We have a 3,000 sq ft, two story. During most of that time, we had at least one kid living with us.
