KDC'ers: I
set up a page so you can send your comments directly to the Mobility
Consultant (Gunda Corp) and the Kingwood Mobility committee
easily...here is the page:https://www.kingwood.com/mobility/I'm
hoping we get more people to submit comments....as of last night, they
said only about 50 people had submitted comments online. If all the
KDC'ers fill out that page above, we might make a real difference in the
outcome of the Mobility Committee's decision. 4951

@KingwoodDotCom: yeah I find that questions kind of slanted....   I am okay iwth adding a lane or two if they can do it without removing  the trees.  They should be clearer with what adding lanes means....  they will get the answer they want and make it a freaking highway when that is not what people who answer "yes" are okay with.

@GoldenGirl: There's always room for improvement, but I have to admit that the wording of that question is mine. Generally, the "yes" comments are also specifying that a highway is not what they want...

@GoldenGirl -- Just wanted to add, that all of the TIRZ and government representatives I've talked to, have admitted that a four lane road in each direction (8 lanes total) is politically a lost cause...I think the issue is really 2 lanes or 3. 4951

@Fallon This should be paid entirely through TIRZ money, so no raised taxes...funds are already going to the TIRZ group, it's just a matter of figuring out where to spend them...I was curious about the study, too -- do you know the dollar amount that is being paid to Gunda Corp? 4951

This is the same group that built the new library and furnished the Community Center.  I am sorry, I still don't get why either was built and it would scare me knowing these are the same people who are doing the study and essentially deciding your future in Kingwood. 4951

@KingwoodDotCom: I researched and couldn't find how much was spent on this survey, BUT- in 2004 the city of Houston spent $400,000.00 to do almost an identical survey to the one Gunda did. Both surveyed Kingwood roads. The Patterson group came up with a list of more than 30 things that needed to be dealt with.  Ten years later, most of those improvements have not been made.

So the TIRZ has hundreds of millions laying around?  For reals?If so wth don't they spend that money doing something for all of our water bills?  I am paying over $150 a month, and I don't have a pool and I only watered my yard 2 freaking times last month! And I don't have any leaks, I had a plumber come out to verify.No way a study lasting this long, was done under several millions.   I haven't seen the exact amount, but I can't see it being done for under $5million.  I hope I am wrong.  If so, they are the only people to do a survey like this cheapEmoticon

@Fallon:

The amount of money going into this ( & that indiscriminately gets thrown around in general ) is infuriating. I too believe the money could be better spent. 4951
