I have a parental control on my dd's new Kindle.  I can control how long she can read books, play games, etc.  Each section can have a different time.  I know some parents say they let them play on it as long as they want-just wondering what the average is. 4951

Oh, before I get attacked for letting her have a Kindle Fire, she bought it with her own money by selling various toys she was too old for. 4951

Same as @boobear

She gets to watch one show at bedtime on my IPad, and she's always asleep before the show even ends.
Besides that, she probably spends 30 mins playing games 3-4 days a week. I don't have any limit, because she doesn't ask for it that often. 4951

@KTownTexican: DH and I don't have phones like that.  Heck, she is the only one with a tablet of any kind. I have told her if she breaks it, there will not be a replacement. I have also told her if I catch her on the internet w/o supervision, she just bought mom a great present.

@Okiedokie: If she paid for it let her do whatever she want's with it. Maybe she will be more financially independent in the future after having experienced reaping the rewards of it.

@fcabanski: Unless she knows the password, she can't get out of the kid mode.  The password is going to be changed weekly.

So, I'm in a bar, having a few
drinks, when I realize I gotta take a leak...So I go into one of the
restroom stalls, and moments later, the guy in the next stall, says "Hey....How's it going?" So, I go "Uhhh, it's goin' all right."  A couple of seconds
later he says, "So, what are ya doing tonight?" So, naturally I replied,
"Just having' a couple of beers, and then I'm going  straight home." The
next thing he says is, "Listen, I'll call you back later. There's some
idiot in the next stall, answering everything I say." 4951

Just long enough for her to learn how NOT to have conversations with human beings face-to-face, to never use capital letters or punctuation and how to type the small word you with just a U.

Yep, that'll do it!

An elderly woman is riding in an
elevator in a very lavish downtown Los Angeles highrise, when a young, striking, beautiful woman gets into the elevator, smelling of expensive perfume.....She turns to the old woman, throws her hair back, and says arrogantly, "Romance" by Ralph
Lauren, $150 an ounce!" At that time, another young and privileged woman gets on
the elevator, and also very arrogantly announces,
"Channel No. 5, $200 an ounce!" About three floors later, the old woman
has reached her destination and is about to get off the elevator........Before
she leaves, she looks both women in the eye, then bends over, farts and says........... "Broccoli... 49 cents a pound!" 4951

As much as they want.  They are both in their 20s and living on their own.  I didn't have to worry about it when they were younger.  They didn't get smart phones until they were in college.Edited:  It DOES get annoying when we are visiting and their phones chime every couple of minutes with incoming texts.  Who the hell has that much to share with others that they are constantly texting?!?  (That's a rhetorical question!) 4951
