Interesting, but why in H*ll does the mom run off and leave the kid there when the dog could attack again. It would have been me and the dog Mano a mano before he got to him again. 4951

I just looked at FB during lunch and a bunch of my friends from up north posted it.  That's crazy.  I don't know if my cat would stick up for me but I do see if the dog is really picking at one of the cats and the other one hears it, the 2nd one will sneak up from behind and give the dog a whack.  Curious to know if they would defend me. 4951

@Odin: Not Austin, but one of my FB friends did post it earlier, and 10 or so more have since posted it as well, lol.

It looked like she went the way the dog did just in the front of the vehicle when the dog went behind.  Maybe she was going to lay the smack down on the dog.  I know I would. 4951

@dotti573: That would have been not so smart to do.  The dog could have gone back after the kid or her.

@Queen_of_Spayeds: Exactly - get the kid out of harm's way first - don't leave him there!

Cats can be very protective of their property ( yes cats think humans are their property). I have a cat that growls when the doorbell rings. When she was younger she would run up to the door with the dogs- growling the whole way. Now she just growls and lets the dogs jump at the door 4951

I saw this on my FB and got goosebumps when the cat came in and saved the day but I also wondered what in the h-e-double hockey sticks the mom was doing??? I would have scooped my kid up and ran in the house!! 4951

Everyone reacts differently.  I wouldn't know 100% what I would do unless the situation actually occurred.  We can all say I would do this and I would do that but you just never know until it happens. 4951

@dotti573: Exactly what I was thinking, I was going to answer one of the above questions with "I would of picked my boy up and held him and want to see what his injuries were/get him into safety, ect"., but didn't want to give the poor mom a hard time as we don't know what we'd do in a traumatic situation as that and I'm sure she was doing what she thought was right at the time.Still amazing that little cat chased that dog off like that protecting that lil boy.
