I was informed by a resident of Kingwood that they were allegedly a victim this morning in a traffic collision scam. Here is his version of the story: "A tow truck singled me out and chased me and would not let me pull over to let him by or leave me alone. He caused me to swerve into a car. The owner of the car just happen to be the owner of the tow truck. I would like to warn everyone out there about the tow truck that is out there trying to cause accidents.""I would hate for anyone else commuting from Kingwood to be a victim as well. That tow truck relentlessly pursued me for no reason a repeatedly slammed on his brake for no reason. I
would try to pull over and let him by but he would stop behind me, I'm
told by my insurance that they either wanted to steal my car or hit me
up for cash. It occurred on 1960, after I stuck the owner of the tow trucks Honda accord
I kept going until i saw police on the road and i stopped right in
front of them."He included a picture of the tow truck:Loading Image... 4951

I am a wrecker driver in the City of Houston. We would love more information on this as we actively work within our own industry to not only weed out undesirables, but also protect drivers and tow companies from frivolous complaints. If this is true, we, from the inside, will assist as much as possible to make sure this doesn't happen again and this driver never operates a tow truck again.

Please call me, Josh Bonuelos at 832-830-2631 with any additional information. As far as I can find from the picture, this is not a registered tow truck in Texas.

Tow company information can be found here-http://www.tdlr.texas.gov/tools_search/

There is no information on a lightning roadside assistance truck on this website. Please understand, we are a heavily regulated industry, but anyone can purchase a truck and put roadside on it. ROADSIDE SERVICE TRUCKS ARE NOT TOW TRUCKS. This person may not have any of the proper licensing, insurance or background checks, but we will try to find out for you.

All of these people are ******s. They collude with the police to try to generate business by stalking people in the bars on 494, they cause accidents apparently, and do jack **** for the public. I was on 494 a couple days ago, and an elderly man in a motorized wheelchair had flipped on his way back from groceries to the Senior Village. There was damn near a traffic jam as me, my cousin & several other cars came up on this to try to help the man... Right across the street? There was a punk in a white tow truck who had watched the whole thing happen before we got there, and didn't do a damn thing to help. I guess he was hoping the good Samaritans who stopped to help would cause an accident to make him some business... Pathetic leeches. 4951

They wouldn't make me hit anything.  I would stop in the road and call police. 4951

The only reason you remember him is because he was in a tow truck. If he were in a Honda, would you have remembered him? Would you have even noticed he was there? The reason people hate tow trucks is because you know when its a tow truck that cuts you off and our name is written on the side of the truck. Think about many times people have been run off the road by something other than a tow truck. You don't hate all Toyota drivers just because one cut you off, please don't lump us all together like that. 4951

My only beef with tow trucks are when there is am accident they make it 100 X's worse when there's around 15 of them on the side of the road waiting to see who gets the hat pick to tow the wrecked vehicle. 4951

We have fixed that in the City of Houston, we have a 4 wrecker maximum per accident or 2 more than are needed to tow the cars in the event of multi vehicle accidents. I also believe that 25 tow trucks on one accident scene does nothing but create more of a mess. A lot of the wrecks you see with that many tow trucks are in the county's jurisdiction where there is no limit to the number of trucks. 4951

I seriously urge everybody to consider a dash camera if you are worried about scams like this or want to protect yourself legally if you're wrongfully accused of causing an accident.  You can buy a decent dash camera and memory stick for under $100 so it's cheap insurance. 4951

hey J, my name is Edy Rosalino and my number is 936-577-5171this has gone far beyond that.the owner of the tow truck company is the guy i side swiped in the honda accord.that tow truck would not just let me pull over and let me be. he brake checked me quiet a few times and every time i would pull to the shoulder to let him put distance between us but he would also stop and at this point i was scared that he wanted to get me out of the car.i would tail gate cars in hope to deter the tow truck from getting infront of me.when he got infront of me the last time i swerved to the middle lane to avoid rear ending the tow truck and pass it but instead the honda swerved into the shoulder as well, i should have rear ended it but there was no on coming traffic so i went into the on coming traffic lane to avoid rear ending it.i did not stop until i came to a busy intersection where there was a cop at the stop light.as soon as francis climbed out of the honda he hopped into a red ford expedition and took off not even a full minute from being pulled over.he later came back with different license plates for the car. (dealer plates) 4951

i did attempt to pull over and let him put distance between us but then i saw that he would also stop and pull over as well. it then became fearful that thats what he wanted me to do.i was too scared to use my phone and drive my stick shift car while being pursued, since i was to shaken to use it properly i stuck it out the window and recorded the tow truck. it got him to slow down for a while but as soon as traffic thinned out i made a run for it.i wish i would have just pulled into a gas station. 4951

@rebeld1865: ANY TIME you would like to come and talk to one of these ******s, I sit in the same spot EVERY DAY.  I would be that punk in the wrecker across the street, and FOR THE RECORD, I didn't even see the old man fall out of his chair until I seen ya'll already helping him up.  At that point there were FOUR OR FIVE grown men helping this man, and there was no need for me to cause a further traffic jam by coming over there.  I don't spend my day watching traffic or colluding with the police, I sit around and wait for a call to come in, usually on my phone or the laptop in my truck.  IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ME, PLEASE BE MY GUEST AND STOP BY AND SEE ME...ILL SHOW YOU HOW MUCH OF A PUNK I AM.  Next time your wife or daughter is broke down on the side of the freeway, don't call a tow truck to go pull them to safety.  People like you think that your **** don't stink and that the world should be served to you on a silver platter.  I got bad news for you, you aren't anything.  The first time something happens and you NEED a tow truck, your whole tune will change, just like everybody else.  Spend a day in my shoes RISKING YOUR LIFE to help others, then we will talk.  Until then, either shut your mouth, or come see me under the shade tree where I sit.ENOUGH SAID

Obligatory "this is why I carry" post.Looks like you were in a 05-09 V6 Mustang? Why didn't you simply dust em? Even the base model is well and capable of losing a tow truck. 4951
