I know what happens if you put in a hot dog bun for a couple of minutes. Â They catch on fire. Â I am talking flames! Â And you have to toss the microwave out to your back porch. Â And then eat the nice dinner you cooked outside too, because the fumes in the house are deadly. Â All the while you are eating you are glaring at your dumb butt dh who didn't listen to you when you told him not to do this. Â But did he listen? No! Â He thought by cooking the hot dog bun for a few minutes it get really hard and so our youngest son could use this for his pinewood derby car. Â Instead we have a burned up bun, a burned up microwave, and a fumigated house. Â And he had to help my son carve out a hot dog bun from wood like I told him to do in the first place.Sorry, just brings back old memories
@Fallon: Soon after we bought our first microwave, my wife tried to cook some "ready to bake" bread in it. Â It did rise just a little. Â She knew something wasn't right when one end started turning black. Â It was as hard as a brick. Â In all fairness to my wife, this was in 1978, and cooking in a microwave was still new technology!
