I was a junior in high school then. You could eat a lot with $2.And gasoline was about $ .25/gal (that's right, 25 cents).  I could fill up my motorcycle for 50 cents and ride all week. 4951

That's the year I was born. I remember cheeseburgers being less than 50 cents. And I remember the Hamburgler! 4951

Back when sodas were made with sugar rather than corn syrup, and there were only 2 sizes, not 5. 4951

@Retired_Engineer:

I remember when McDonalds came to Lancaster, PA in the 60s, the hamburgers were $.15, and super premium gas was in the mid $.20 cent range. 4951

My parents didn't believe in eating out, so McDonalds was a real treat for us.  There was a What-A-Burger in Baton Rouge, but I think I only ate there one time.  A bucket of KFC was also a rare treat.I can remember buying burgers from Burger King, then stopping at McDonalds for fries. 4951

No chicken McNuggets, booh! They didn't come out until the early 80's.

Other than that, the menu is perfect. 4951

Back then, my buddy was a football player with a huge appetite.  We would stop by McDonald's on the way to see a movie and he would buy about a dozen of their little hamburgers and a large coke.  Back then, you could bring outside food into the theater.  He could eat those little burgers in about two bites.He also ate six Burger King Whoppers in one sitting.I will also mention that he had a tendency to plug up toilets when pooping.  My dad banned him from using our bathroom after a couple of clogs.  Emoticon 4951
