...garment in your closet that you still wear.Mine is a black outerwear sweater that I bought in the Foley's Junior department in 1996. It used to have flare crocheted sleeves, but over time the stitching has tightened and shrunk, so they just look like normal sleeves now. It has two strings that tie together at the chest, which was a popular style that year. I almost donated it once, but decided against it. I grab it when I'm running out the door on a cool day but don't need to dress up. Like going to the drive-thru at the bank. I'm just surprised it is still in one piece. Maybe I keep it because I miss Foley's. Macy's just isn't the same. 4951

I don't really have anything too old because a tree fell on our closet during hurricane so most every thing was ruined. Michael has some clothes from before we got married. Not that they still fit... 4951

@BooBear: Of all the places for that darn tree to fall! No wait, you had an excuse to buy a whole new wardrobe? Did insurance pay for it?

@MAHMI miss Foley's too! Can't think of the oldest thing in my closet at the moment, but I am always throwing things into a bag to donate, then digging them back out. Of course I end up never wearing them. 4951

All my clothes are old, because I hate shopping. I probably should hire an image consultant.

@noel: I do that too! I had a pair of pants with a tag still on them that I bought on clearance several years ago. It was one of those going out of business sales where all the dressing rooms were closed. I couldn't just throw the pants into a donate bag because they were going to fit me one day darnit! (The size was mismarked.) Finally, I offered them to a friend who I knew would wear them. This just happened a few weeks ago. It felt good to declutter - a little.

I'd need 3 months before I'd buy new clothes as I'm on a fitness regimen. 4951

@Odin: I'll be pushing a stroller at that point. But hey, if it doesn't bother you, it doesn't bother me. Emoticon

I still have, and wear on occasion, my Vietnam jungle fatigue shirt issued in 1971.  Anyone have anything older than that? 4951

I still have a Dire Straits t-shirt from my high school days in the 90's - can barely read most of the words, but it's still hanging on. Don't wear it in public though.Regret that I ever wore those concert shirts - should have saved them. 4951

@scamp: That reminded me that I still have the T-shirt from my first concert ever. Earth Day Festival 1997. Barenaked Ladies were awesome! I don't wear it anymore (never wore t-shirts much anyway) but a couple of my kids have borrowed it for a night shirt.
