I took dd to the store today to try to find her a bathing suit and maybe a couple tank tops.  WTH are girls wearing these days?  She is only 8 but is 5ft tall.  All the suits her size were totally inappropriate. They were either tiny two pieces or deep V takinis.  I thought okay-lets do look at tank tops-they had built in bra shelfs.  First off-my 8 year old is not wearing a shirt with a bra built in. 2nd of all-those things are not comfy.  4951

Sorry, decided my vent isn't over.  They make plus size clothes for the bigger kids-they have slims for the smaller kids.  Why in the hell can't they have talls for the taller kids.  My dd has to walk around pulling her pants/shorts up all the time.  Her shirts are too big b/c I can't have her belly showing. And yes-I have tried the adjustable pants but one trip to the bathroom and they are undone.I am afraid of what I will find in the juniors section 4951

We had trouble finding a decent swimsuit for our 3 yr old. She's got a little booty on her (lol) and the first suit we bought shows half her butt. We found a cute one at Old Navy that has a little skirt on it.

Have you tried Old Navy, btw? They seem to have good stuff for kids. 4951

Last summer, I needed to buy my 13 year old a modest swimsuit for church camp, which I prefer anyway. We had some luck at Target. We bought separate top and bottom that had all the necessary coverage. 4951

@MAHM: My parents bought her one from there-I may have to check them out again.  I like her having a suit for there and one for home.

Try Childrens Place.  That is where I used to buy my DD's suits because they always fit right without everything hanging out. 4951

Sign up for justice online only sales....they do go up to 16 I believe and they have clearance on all the shirts all the time. My girl is tall too and is in zeros already. Forever 21 have nice everyday jeans and appropriate small T shirts in zeros(0 equals=12 in childrens and so fourth) that are only like 9 bucks. Childrens place and justice 12's SHIRTS will fit my kid and are more appropriate.Justice in the mall with no sales is like buying clothes lined with gold but if you sign up for email alerts or (shop their clearance rack in the mall) they have online only sales that are way marked down but you have to buy a bit at once because the shipping for one outfit is about the same as a box load.....lol They do have free shipping if you spend 99 sometimes and they also give justice bucks/cards to use on next purchase that also will save you money. If you shop right with justice you can get the clothes about 75% off.Someone needs to make a tween line for taller kids that is more appropriate...its like you go from young child to look at me hoochi teen when you jump from size childs 12 to juniors and some kids like ours are just tall but still 8, 9 or 10 yrs old.....lol 4951

Justice has 1 piece, tankinis and 2 pieces...here is a link to their one pieces and they look conservative enough IMO. And most go all the way up to size 20'shttp://www.shopjustice.com/girls-clothing/swimwear/swimsuits/one-piece 4951

@Burnsway: Thank you!  I agree about needing a line for taller girls. Even if I would let her wear them-my dd does not like clothes that show skin.  If I would let her, she would wear running pants and a t-shirt every day.
