HelloWho do you all use for AC servicing? Its going to be getting hot as you know what soon and I want to make sure everything is clean and performing tip top. I know a lot of these AC companies are scammy and love to sell service and repair that isn't really needed. Has anyone had a great experience with any trustworthy local companies? Thanks for the help!! And if you are an AC company you need not post your advertisement in this thread, (it will automatically rule you out). 4951

I know what you mean, there is like a million other  things Id rather spend my money on, And I really dont want some AC guy to come out and scare me into spendy repairs or a new system when my current system seems to be working fine. 4951

@Zeeman: We have used Deerwood (I think) in the past and they did a good job for us.  If your system is working fine, you can always do the simple things yourself, such as putting in a new air filter in your inside air inlet, and cleaning the outside condenser by spraying the fins with a garden hose.  Also, you can make sure the outside unit does not have a buildup of leaves, weeds, etc, around it.  More air movement = better cooling. I also turn off the breaker for my outside units, and spray the condenser fins with a cleaning spray, and then rinse once a year.  Most folks might not be comfortable going to that step, but it is easy for me to do.

@Zeeman: Bryan and his guys don't do this.  At our old house on a reference from a neighbor we had a guy put in a new system.  A couple months later it was hiccuping and he was no where to be found.  Based on what I had read on the local message boards plus some friends recommendation that used them, I called KAS.  The tech came out and, although he looked like he wanted to patronize me for using a fly-by-night, got me fixed up and charged me fairly.  I asked him to take a look at the rest of the system and he pointed out a couple of other things that this yahoo had done incorrectly.  He said he could give me a quote on it but that if I were minimally handy I'd be wasting my money.  Then he gave me solid instructions on how to take care of it.They are quality people.  They do good work and they charge a fair price.  They won't take advantage of you. 4951

I have KAS here at my house right now. I called this morning, they were booked up, but Adam said he could work me in - and he did.  So glad because I can't stand to sleep in no air conditioning. Thank you Fallon for recommending KAS a while back - they have been the best!!! 4951

I have Air Depot over right now doing a spring a/c check. The man said I was a little low on refrigerant - probably $100 worth! 4951
