I was at an open mic a couple weeks ago and a young man asked me if I was born in Texas. I said that I wasn't but that I got here as fast as I could. He replied that it sounded like a song I should write. Without further adieu and for what it's worth, I present to you "Born In Texas". Â Clearly...I will maintain my day job. Â :-) 4951
Born and raised in Michigan. Â Left the north as soon as I was out of school and have never had any desire to ever live there again. Â I know some folks like it, I'm just not one of them. Â I've been saying sir, ma'am, and y'all while holding the door for a lady and getting my wife's car door for the last 30 years. Â Recovery from being born a Yankee is possible...you just have to want it. Â :-) 4951
Washington, Alabama, and two in Arkansas. The Arkansas kids were 4 years old and 5 months old when we moved to Kingwood. Â Texas is all the know. Â That has to count for something, right?!? 4951
Where did you tape this with the water in the background? Â Is that Lake Houston?
@calliecat: Thanks.I just recorded it in my home office on my laptop earlier today. Â Nothing fancy and actually not even plugged in or using an external mic. The picture was taken last August at a friend's bay house on Tiki Island. 4951

@shodan66: Don't ever be afraid to say you're a yankee. I'm proud I'm a yankee, even though I love texas and wouldn't live anywhere else. Love the song!! 4951
