so I have Humana & they are the most aggravating people I have ever done business with . They call me at least once a week to see how Iam . Last year they would call to see if I was taking my meds ! I finally told them to stop calling me , I do not need a watch dog as I'm capable of taking care of my self. Last week they called & ask if they could stop by my house & talk , I told them okay . So today a guy rings my doorbell & I let him in after I have checked his ID to make sure he is with Humana. The 1st thing he says is I need to see all your medicine bottles & check to see how you are taking your meds . I was **** ! So I told him I considered this an invasion of my privacy & if Humana wanted to know anything about my meds or my health they could contact my doctor & I gave him her name. He then ask if I would sign a paper saying I refused to give him the information , I told him I would not sign anything as I was not refusing just telling them that my medical information was between me & my doctor & if they needed any further information they needed to go through my doctor. So he left. I have been with several insurance companies over the years & Humana is the 1st to be so intrusive & aggravating . I'm thinking about switching companies. Has anyone else had this problem with any insurance. I just had a full physical & health check up & my doctor said I'm very healthy for 70 + years & she wishes all her older patients were in as good a condition as Iam & her job would be a lot easier. Sorry just venting . 4951

What a croc. I never, ever heard of such a level of intrusion. I have never had an insurance company call me asking anything related to my health. Ever!
It looks to me like they are desperately trying to find reasons to deny claims. I would run away from them. You were too kind to even let them come to your house!
Has anybody else had such an intrusive experience with their insurance? 4951

I doubt they want to deny my claim , I get a physical once a year & a check-up every 6 months , then my blood test every 8 weeks because of the meds I'm on for my RA . So I'm really "cheap to keep " (LOL) ...most people my age have a lot of medical problems so I'm glad I'm not one of those but I do keep my health in check & follow doctors orders . My husband said maybe they were trying to get me to find a different insurance company by calling me all the time. I told him they were doing a good job because I'm looking into several other companies that do not call or come to your home & ask questions. 4951

UnitedHealth Group Inc. (UNH:US) and Humana Inc. (HUM:US) are among the health insurers that will see their base U.S. government payment rate reduced 4 percent next year for Medicare Advantage programs for elderly Americans. While the base payment rate cut is more than the government’s proposed 3.55 percent reduction in February, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said yesterday in a letter to insurers that it’s delaying a proposal that would have lowered payments further. The agency put off a limitation on home assessments that industry analysts said would have meant an additional 2 percent cut for insurers. 4951
